*Slenderman pov*

I watched as the young mortal walked away into the forest. I followed her, invisible, for a while before I realized that she was wandering around aimlessly. Eventually she just put down her small bag and fell asleep next to a tree. What was she doing in here in the first place? I looked into her memories and, because I had nothing better to do I entered her them, reliving the memories along side her. The forest faded to black as the memory slowly came into focus. A smaller version of Mel with short hair was sitting at a small wooden table with a colorful paper hat shaped like a cone on her head, she was surrounded by more small humans with colorful paper hats shaped like cones on there heads. Her green eyes full of excitement.

"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Meeellll, Happy birthday to you." A middle aged human, that looked like an older version of Mel, came in with a small round object with six small flaming wax sticks on top. Mel blew on the sticks causing the flames to go out and everyone to cheer. Then a male with short blond hair and blue eyes, about the same age as the older women, came in with a knife. He cut up the small round object and passed a piece around to everyone. They started eating the object. Weird, humans are weird. I went on to the next memory as the man handed Mel a brightly colored box. The next memory was in one of the educating centers that young humans learn in. We were in a hallway. Mel looked older by 4-5 human years. Her ginger hair was longer and she had that weird bag on her back but it looked cleaner and not as old. She started walking down the hallway and I followed her.

"Hey! Gingerbread!" I turned to see a yellow haired young female followed by two young females with brown hair. The yellow haired female smelled like dead flowers. Mel kept walking past the yellow haired female.

"HEY! Gingerbread don't ignore me when I'm talking to you!" The yellow haired one yelled at Mel as her brown haired friends grabbed Mel and forced her to face the yellow haired one.

"What do you want Jessica." Mel struggled against the two brown haired girls.

"Complement me on my new perfume, bitch." Jessica smiled as Mel stopped struggling and took a whiff.

"Bleck! Smells like something died." Mel made a face. Jessica's face got red and she kicked Mel in the stomach.

"Wrong answer, Gingerbread." Jessica punched and kicked Mel until Mel stopped fighting back. Jessica smirked.

"Stupid sixth graders, don't know high-quality when they see it." Jessica and her friends walked away as I went to the next memory. Mel almost looked like she did in present day. We were in a dark house and there were red and blue flashing lights out in the street. Mel was crying in what looked like a living room and there were law enforcers in there with her!

"Miss could you tell me what happened?" one of the law enforcers nealed down next to her.

"Well *sniff* I heard something in the hallway a-and I thought it was nothing and went back to sleep. I woke as little bit later to see a figure standing in my room staring at me. I-I stared back at it as it walked t-towards me. I-I screamed and ran into the bathroom, locking the door. That's when I called 911. He was pounding on the door and stabbing it with his knife. I was so scared." She put her head down and started crying. The law enforcer put his arm around her and she cried into his shoulder.

"Do you remember what this man looked like?" He asked after a while. Mel pulled away and dried her eyes.

"I-I think I know who h-he is." She replied.

"Great who is he?" He asked with enthusiasm.

"His name is Jeff, Jeff the killer and I-I don't think I will be allowed to l-live much l-longer." Mel broke into tears again as the memory ended and I saw present day Mel. She was sitting in a cardboard box in an alley with her bag next to her. She moved a stray piece of hair from her face.

"HEY KID!" She jumped as a loud male voice yelled from the entrance of the alley. She grabbed her bag and ran.

"THERE SHE GOES, GET HER!" Mel ran nimbly through the streets and back alleys until she came to the forest. She stopped.

"HEY THERE SHE IS!" Mel ran through the forest away from the three men who were struggling through the trees and brush. Eventually Mel reached my tree. She caught her breath and then climbed up it. When she got high enough she looked around. Probably trying to look for the city. Then past me came out of the forest. Past me sat down next to the tree and passed out. Mel started slowly going down the tree until she got a better look at past me's face, then she basically jumped out. When she got to past me's side she moved me off the tree so I was laying down. She dug around in her bag and pulled out some medical bandages and wrapped my stomach and arms up. While she was wrapping up my stomach a thought went through her head. 'Dam he's strong'. Then she went through my pockets.

'No phone, hope I did a good job wrapping him up.' That thought went through her head as I started to wake up. Suddenly the I was shaken out of the memories.

"THERE SHE IS, WE HAVE YOU NOW YOU STREET RAT!!" the three men from Mel's memories had grabbed her and were pulling her through the forest.

*Mel pov*

"LET ME GO!!" I squirmed to be let free. The human catchers finally caught up with me and I wasn't going down with out a fight. The three of them were having a hard time controlling me and getting us through the forest. Suddenly the air took on a more menacing tone. I wasn't the only one to notice, the human catchers stopped and looked around warily. They started going faster and faster until they were running through the forest. I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It looked like a large black snake. One of the men holding my arms tripped and fell we ran off without him.

"AAAAGGGGGG HELLPP!!" They ran on faster this time. The mans death cries seemed to drive us faster and faster until two black tentacles grabbed the last two men and dragged them into the darkness of the shadows. The screams of pain and terror would leave me mentally scared for years. I ran on leaving them behind, but I was tired and clumsy and ended up tripping over a root.

"OOF!.......unnng." I groaned as I tried to stand up but fell back down in exhaustion. I felt a presence right behind me.

"Please, just make it quick." I whimpered. I felt my self being lifted up into the air and I looked over at my attacker. He had a shredded suit and no face, I knew him! My eyes grew wide.

"Der? Is that you?" I asked. He nodded.
