*Slenderman pov*

[TRENDERMAN STOP HARASSING MY PROXYS!] I stopped when I heard laughter. It was Mel. [Mel? What are you doing out here?]

"Just going for a walk." She replied when she caught her breath.

[Mind if I join you?] I asked.

"Wern't you chasing after Trenderman?" She replied quickly. I felt sad for a moment before I quickly buried my feelings and put up a neutral aura.

[Yes, I probly should go save my proxys now.] I started walking after Trenderman.

"Um...actually, I don't know how safe it is out here, you know, with your brother mad at me." I stopped. "So I guess if you stick around, he might not ambush me or somthing." Mel looked down at her feet. I felt confused.

[You want me....to protect you?] I looked at her with confusion to mask the unexplainable joy I felt on the inside. She looked up.

"Um........yea?" She stared at the ground again.

[Um...ok.] She looked up in surprise.

"Really? You'll walk with me?" I walked back to her.

[Ya, my proxys can survive for a bit longer without me.] We started walking. I looked over at her when she wasn't looking. Hey hair fell in black waves on her back. Her flawless, pale, features seemed to make her glow in the late afternoon sunlight. She seemed to be troubled by somthing, so I started up a conversation. [So, how did you fake your death?]

"Oh um, I stopped my heart. Then changed into my slender being form and teleported away." Mel looked straight ahead. The atmosphere seemed to darken a bit.

[Why?] She stopped and looked over at me, anger evident in her body motions.

"Why?Why?! You were trying to kill me that's why!" She looked forward again. "Maybe I should go home." She turned around and started fast walking back the way we came. I've messed up now.

[Wait! Mel!] I reached out and put my hand on her shoulder, she shrugged it off and started walking faster. I appeared in front of her. [Mel wait.] She stopped and glared at the ground.

"I have nothing to say to you." She teleported to the other side of me and started running away.

[Mel! Mel!] I started running after her. That's when I noticed the bear trap. [MEL! WATCH OUT!] I heard a metallic clang as the trap bit into her foot. She stumbled and fell.

"FFFFFFUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK!!" She screamed as I teleported to her.  "AAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!" I helped her to stand upright. "GET.ME.OUT." She hissed between gritted teeth. I quickly bent down, grabbed both sides of the trap and pulled. "FFFFFUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKK!!" She screamed again as she quickly pulled her foot out of the opened trap. I let go. She looked down at her foot and threw up. It was connected to her leg by a few strands of skin. The number of strands slowly grew as it healed its self. She looked away from her foot and leaned against a tree. Before I could doubt my decision, I had already picked her up and started to walk back home.

[We are going back.] She sighed and leaned her head against my shoulder.

"Shouldn't we teleport?" She asked after a few minutes of silence.

[No. Teleporting has a weird effect on injured beings.] I explained. I don't want her to lose her healing, or worse. Her connection with me. WAIT WHAT!? It's true that she might lose her healing but the fact that she might become a normal human being seemed...terrible. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.
