I woke up, and there was darkness all around me. I looked down at my leg, to see a a bug crawling up on it. I flinched and swatted it with my hand. My heart thudding, I looked to the tiny window above me and went towards it. How long had I been in here? I peeked through the window to see a beautiful dusk setting. The sun had dipped below the horizon and the sky was a calm shade of blue and pink. I looked back, straight at the door of the basement. I recalled Will coming after me with the knife. I shook my head to draw the thought away. Was he still there? I had to get out, I thought. He was about to kill me, and that was the last straw. Even if I died, I had to die trying to get out. I wouldn't let him keep me his silent captive anymore.


I began to devise a plan. But I had to gain Will's trust first. If I did something now, he would be too suspecting. For just a little bit longer, I had to play along, until he was no longer suspicious. Then, I would leave. I began to pace back and forth, thinking my plan through.


Will would never leave me home alone. He had left once, for a business trip, but he had put a camera in every room and corner of the house to watch my moves. Otherwise he worked from home. I had to get him out of the house, I needed to give him and excuse. Rubbing and fidgeting my hands together, I began to come up with a plan...
