I walked in the hallway, heading straight towards where all of my friends were. They all looked really excited, talking among themselves. I wonder what was happening?
Once I got to where they were, I smiled at all of them. "Hey, what's up?"
"You don't know?" Jimin asked me with a confused face. I replied to him with a shook of my head.
"You haven't been around this part of town long. There's a festival, that happens here every year." Violet explained to me. "There's going to be food stands, lots of music performances, contests, and most important of all, there's going to be a firework show at the very end."
"Really? That's so cool! When is it?" I asked them, full of curiosity.
"It's tonight. I'm sorry that we didn't tell you earlier, but we thought that you already had known." Taehyung apologized to me.
I quickly shook my head. "No, it's not a problem. It's better that you guys actually tell me now, then never actually telling me. I mean, what if you guys expected me to show up, but then you didn't notice that I never knew about it. It would ruin the whole experience for you guys, looking for me, and not actually enjoying your time."
Everyone looked at me with blank and lost faces. It's as if they had no idea what I was going on and on about. Jungkook was the first to say something. "You have a weird brain. I'm curious about how it works."
I gave him a glare. "Anyways, where is the festival taking place?"
"It's being held by the river. I volunteered to help finish setting up the stands and the performing stage. So, I'll have to leave early. I'll see you guys at the festival though." Violet waved a 'goodbye', at us. We all said bye to her, before she left. Well, except Taehyung, 'cause he ended up following her.
"Do we have to wear fancy stuff, or something?" I asked them.
"I'm not." Charlotte answered my question. "I mean, you can. But, it doesn't seem like a really fancy event, considering all of the things that we just talked about."
Jimin slung his arm around Jungkook's shoulders."We have to go now. Jungkook, Taehyung, and I are actually going to perform a song, with a few of our other friends, so we have to meet up with them. And also, we have to go find Taehyung, and get him away from Violet, so that she can do her work. Adios!" He told Charlotte and I, and then he dragged Jungkook away from us.
"Mae, do you want me to pick you up, for the festival? The river is pretty far away from your house. I doubt that you've ever even been there." Charlotte suggested to me.
"Okay. Yeah, sure." I nodded at her.
~*~*~
We were now in Charlotte's car. She was driving us the the festival. She was wearing a short white top, with a cream coloured cardigan. She also had on a pair of high waisted shorts.
I was wearing maroon skater skirt, with a white sweater. And of course... you've guessed it. My pair of black converse. If I stood next to Charlotte right now, she would look like a goddess, while I looked like I just put on the first things that I saw in my closet, which is not completely false.
"We're here Mae. We can get out now." Charlotte broke me out of my thoughts.
We got out, and we started walking towards where the crowd was. Everyone was either playing games to win prizes, eating, watching the performances that were on stage, or just talking with their friends.
Something was buzzing in my head, and I knew that it wouldn't go away, until I got some answers.
"Hey, Charlotte?" I asked my brunette friend.
