Chapter 1

Kate's POV

I had just finished unpacking the last of my boxes of clothes when there was a knock on my door "come in" I called turning down the One Direction track that was playing off of my phone. Mum stuck her head around the door "settling in ok?" She smiled.

I nodded as I walked over to my bed and sitting down crossing my legs and taking hold of a pillow.

"So you start your new school tomorrow, nervous?" Mum asks as she sits on the bed along side me.

Truth is I'm terrified, I'm not exactly the most confident of people and I don't make friends that easily. But I want this year to be a new me. I have this amazing opportunity to be the person I always wanted to be and there's nobody here from my past life to tell me otherwise.

"No! Not really!! I'm going to kick ass at this school!!" I say with a smile.

"That's the sprit love" she says smiling at me "well I need to go finish unpacking and then how about we go for some food! Go see what your dad wants will you?" She asks as she gets up from the bed and walks out of the room.

"Sure" I call after her as I walk out of the room and wonder around the unfamiliar house to find my dad, and I find him where I would find him in our old house, in front of the telly watching soccer! "How's the table looking Da?" As I take a sit on the leather armchair next to him "it's alright I suppose be better if our boys were on top!" He replies "true, Tottenham doing alright with out Granda?" I ask smiling at him trying not to laugh. "Don't start!" He says looking at me trying not to laugh either.

"I'm not!! Any way mum wants to know what do you want for dinner?"

I say getting up from the armchair now standing beside him

"I don't know how about we go into the city and find somewhere? He asks looking at me and then quickly glancing back to the screen again.

"Sounds good pops" I say walking out of the room.
