Chapter 7

Kate's POV

I get home from school to a quite house "hello?" I call as I open the door. Nobody answered. I walk into the kitchen to find a note on the counter from mum and dad

* hey love

I'm working late tonight and dads got called to Perth for a few days

Here some money for food

See you later

Love you*

I took the 40 dollars that was tapped to the note. I grabbed an apple and headed to my room to find something to wear for that evening. I'm so upset Daniel had a girlfriend but I'm also really surprised he didn't mention it when we were in class today. We talked about everything and anything, but I guess to him that doesn't count as everything and anything or maybe he didn't want to tell a complete stranger his personal life details. We have stuff in common which is great cause its much easier to talk to people you have things in common with right?

As I scanned through my wardrobe for something to wear my phone buzzed on my bed. It was a text from Megan, we have swapped numbers before I left her and the boys earlier. It read

Megan :)

*hey I ended up going to boy's house after you guys left so Jai is going to meet you at the bench

See you in a bit xxx*

Well at least this gives me another bit of time to get my head around Daniel with his girlfriend. You would swear I knew the boy ages and had been crushing on him for months when in reality it was only what a couple of hours. Joys of teenage life I guess. I liked the idea of meeting Jai though I didn't get to talk to him much only at lunch, but everyone was staring at the boys all weird and stuff. My guess was their the popular kids of the school. But their not the mean kind you see in the movies.

It was already 7pm, crap! Where did the time go. I picked out a pair of black skinny jeans and a red Hollister hoodie. I took my hair out of the plaits and left my hair waving. I put on my red high tops. I put up on a light layer of foundation and a small bit more mascara with a bit of eye liner. I put on my Liverpool beanie. By the time I was ready it was 7:45 so I decided I would head off now. I took the money mum left, my keys, and phone, shoved them into my pocket and set off to the park.

Jai's POV

I came through the door of the house and flung my bag my the end of the stairs. I walked in the living room and sat down on l the couch. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked the time 4:45 I had plenty of time. I flipped through the channels for a while before Beau walked in "alright dickhead? What's new?" He says sitting on the couch next to me. "Alright cunt? Nothing you?" I ask him handing him the remote for the telly "nothing! What time is everyone coming over! Mum rang to say she was working late" He says taking the remote from my hand and clicking through the channels himself. "Eh 8ish, I'm going to go change" and with that I walked out of the room.

When I returned from my room I walked in to find Luke and Megan sitting on the couch. "Hey!! Thought you were getting Kate?" I asked Megan. "Oh shit ya!! Can you be a babe and meet her? She's gonna be at the park at 8" she looks at me pleading "Cause I'm such an amazing friend, ill go but leave her know so she doesn't think you've stood her up" I tell her "thank you Jai, ill text her now" she says getting up placing a kiss on my cheek. I could see Luke wasn't happy with that decision but what can I do.

I walked into the kitchen to get a drink. I went to the cupboard and took a glass, I moved to the sink and filled it with water. At the corner of my eye I could see Beau smirking at me "what?" I asked him as I put the glass down "oh nothing just you saying to Megan your only doing it cause your an amazing friend" he says laughing at me "ya so?"

"Come on dude! You haven't stopped talking about her since ye met! You like her" he replied

"Who? You think I like Megan!! I love the girl she's the sister I never had but thats it plus can you imagine what Luke would do if I did?" I tell him

"Not Megan you fuckhead, Kate!!"

And with that he left
