Ruby's pov
"Yes mommy i know" i was on the phone with my mom while packing my things. "Ok bye i love you too" i hung up and layed on my bed. It was spring break and i had to stay over at the twins house because my mommy wasn't going to be here for like 3 days. And im really worried on the fact that im staying at the same household as ethan. I don't mind too much of grayson so far. And to make matters worse im leaving my room for three days.
It was a friday and school went normal. The same stuff from ethan but i didn't see grayson today i guess he was sick. Probably sick of me. The house phone rang. I ran downstairs and picked up the phone."hello?" "oh hi! Is this ruby?" it was lisa.
"Yeah,hi Mrs dolan" i said happily. She was the nicest lady besides my mom.
"Hey dear i just wanted to let you know where all ready to have you come over for dinner then we'll get you settled in" she said very happily.
"Y-yeah ok I'll be over in a minute" i said while licking my lips. I was definitely worried on what this three day weekend might hold.
"Ok dear see you there!!"i smiled and hung up. I walked back upstairs and grabbed my phone and house keys. I slung this big bag i have when i travel but never have used it once because we never travel. I looked at my room one more time then shut off the lights. I know i sound dramatic but my room is like my secret layer. Like in those villian movies. Or in sponge bob where mermaid man and barnacle boy have their secret layer.
I locked my house and walked over to the house which since my house was at the end of the block all i had to do was turn left and their house was at the street behind mine and they lived at the corner too. Considering mine and graysons back balconys are soo close and back to back. That reminds me i can just sneek over to my house thru the balcony. I walked up the stoned pathway up to their door. You can see the lights from inside. I pushed the white door bell and a welcoming ding was going off inside.
I saw a shadow move towards the door. Th edoor opened and revealed lisa. Her face lit up with excitement."hiii rubyyy!!!! Come in come in"she said waving her hand for me to come in. I smiled and said "hi lisa and thank you" she smiled and closed the door. I heard alot of plates being clanked together and talking. She rested her hand on my back as we walked towards the dinning area. There was sean at the end of the table then ethan on his left and grayson next to ethan then sean stood up and hugged me. "Hey rubs how are you?"he asked. I smiled and replied by saying"im doing g-good" i said while looking around then locking eyes with grayson. I quickly looked away towards lisa. "So where would you like me to put my stuff away?" i asked politely.
"Oh of course sorry dear, um she looked around and clapped her hands together grayson why don't you show ruby to her room and get her settled in?" he scooted out of his chair and stood up and qalked past me while saying "follow me"i nodded my head and excused myself and followed grayson upstairs. Then i remembered all the kids rooms where upstairs and lisa and seans where downstairs. But cameron moved out for college.
we reached the top of the stairs and walked down the left hall. We passed grays room then we stopped at cams. "This is your room since cam moved out" we both walked in. It looked really nice they remolded it. But it will never be home as my room. I set my bag on the bed. And looked at gray. He looked at me. We starred at each other for a while then he looked like he was going to say something but he stopped and walked out
I sighed and sat at the end of the bed. I pulled out my phone and looked and txted my mom back saying i made over here safely. I stood back up and walked down stairs everybody was waiting for me. I awkwardly made my way to my seat. I sat down next to lisa and the boys infront of me. Ethan was on his phone while grayson was rolling peas with the end of his fork.
Soon enough we all started to eat i was eating in silence while ethan and sean where talking about him being on the football team. "So ruby joined in any sports or clubs in school?"lisa asked me. Then the focus was on me. I was pretty scared like all her kids played sports. I drank the food down with water. "I-i um not necessarily " i said while looking down at my plate.
"Oh then do you have any hobby's" she asked while cutting her stake. I bit my lip."well i do read alot and i love to listen to music" she smiled and said"thats very good ruby what type of music do you listen to?" finally something up my alley. "Well i like classic rock, and my favorite band is fleetwood mac and i really like alice cooper and other many artist" sean got excited.
"Finally a teeneger with a good taste in musice besides all that rap bullshit" i smiled with my mouth a little open from shock. Lisa smacked his arm and said"excuse his language ruby" i nodded my head and lightly chuckled. "Its ok " we all ate again. After we finshed ethan got up and left. Put my dish in the sink and started to wash everybody elses. "Oh thank you soo much ruby " i smiled and looked over at lisa."no problem and thankyou so much for the food it was really delicious"
"No problem hon and you'll have to excuse the boy's attitude tonight i just don't know whats wrong with them?" i nodded my head understandingly. After i cleaned up i and said goodnight to lisa and sean i walked back upstairs. I was walking past Graysons room. "Ruby wait" i stopped and stood at his doorframe. And wow his room has changed from when i last saw it which was like in 7th grade. "You can come in "i walked over and sat next to him on his bed. He sat next to me and looked at me in the eye. "Look ruby i just really wanted to you know umm" he looked down at his fingers fiddling with them.
I sat there with my hands folded over my lap. I was nervouse on what he had to say. This can be a trick him and ethan where going to plan. "Im really sorry........for everything. He grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes. But i saw the old grayson with the same warm rosy cheeks and that spark in his eyes. " and i really mean everything ruby" i really didn't know what to say.
Graysons pov
I looked into her big blue eyes. "I-i don't k-know what to say gray" she said nervously. Gray hmm she hasn't called me that in years. I pushed a little bit of her rich beautiful brown hair behind her ear and kissed her. I don't know what came over me but it just felt right.
With her big soft plumped lips. She kissed back then pulled away. Shit! What was i thinking???. She stood up at looked frightened. "I-i um sorry"she ran out my room."ruby wait!" it was too late and i heard her close the door and the lock. I sighed and pulled my hair in frustration. God what's wrong with me?!.
Great and she's staying for three days.
I pulled me hair in frustration and ran my fingers through it and layed back on my bed. I don't know why i did it but her lips were extremely soft and her eyes are gorgeous. I smiled a little thinking of her and the fact that i kissed her.
But what is she thinking right now? Did she like it? Idk what if she thinks im full of shit.
Ruby's pov
I was laying in bed and that's not how i expected my first kiss to happen. Plus i didn't even know what i was doing it all happened so fast and i pulled away because it was wrong. Everything is wrong. I think i just need to sleep it off. I got up and pulled out my baby pink vintage night gown and slipped it on. I neatly layed my dress over one of the chairs in the room and kept on my black and white stripped socks on. I brushed my hair and put it in a freanch braid. I grabbed my toothbrush and walked towards the restroom. And the light was on meaning someone was in there.
I waited for whoever was in there to come out. I heard the the toilet flush then that water go on then off. The door opened revealing ethan. He looked at me up and down then laughed. I furrowed my eyebrows in annoyance and confusion."what?" i said. "What are you wearing you old lady?" he said while laughing. I saw grayson at the corner of my eye watching what was happening.
"Its called a night gown" i said while looking at him. He rolled hus eyes. And walked pass me while bumping my shoulder. I stumbled a little back and walked in the bathroom and closed the door. After i brushed my teeth. As i rinsed the toothpaste off the brush i looked at my wrist. There was old ones and new ones. Idk why but i just countinyed to do it. Like yesterday after school. I opened the door and walked back to my room and fell asleep and thought about the kiss. Why me?
