chapter 11

Graysons pov

"So what did you guys do today?" my mother said as she served my dad his plate. I looked at Ethan then at ruby who was looking down at her empty plate. "Nothing much umm we just for a swim and hung out." she nodded her head. "Good oh and ruby"i looked at her and she raised her head looking at my mom. "I was wondering sinse i have the day off tomorrow how would you feel on a shopping spree?" she asked happier than usual. Ruby looked a little uncertain. "Y-yeah sure"she said.

I looked at my mom. "Ok we'll leave around 2:00" i looked back at ruby and she nodded her head. After my mom served all of us,we were just eating and it was quiet. Except my mom talking to my father. I couldn't help but feel a little jealous that when she has a day off she would rather spend it with her than her own sons. But then again ruby deserves this. I looked at her the way her perfect messy brown hair would flow down her shoulders. Her pink stained lips and the way her big blue eyes would have like a spark of hope in them. Something not all of is have.

After i finished my food i got up and took my plate to the sink. I was washing my dish when i heard someone behind me. I put my dish in the rack and dried my hands on a towel. I turned back to see ruby . i smiled and ethan came in. "Meet me in my room" i whispered to her than left to room.

Ruby's pov

I walked upstairs and went to go change into my pastel pink long sleeved night gown. I took off my shoes and kept my white socks on. I walked down the hall towards grays room and knocked on the door. "Come in" i smiled and opened and closed the door. I sat down on the bed next to him. He was just wearing his blue basket ball shorts and an gray t-shirt that had the schools wrestling team name on it. "Hey um listen, today has been eventful and it had me thinking" i noticed that he was nervous and was fiddling with his fingers.

I nodded my head paying attention. "A-and look he sighedd and looked down and countinued your um mom when you guys went through that rough time she left some of his stuff here with us" my heart was beating at a adnormal pace and my palms were sweaty and i could feel an easy feeling in my stomach. "So i wanted you to see this with me beacuse i feel like you need it ruby. I don't want you doing something regretful" he looked into my eyes and i could already feel them sting. He licked his lips and looked down at my lap. I had my arms folding over eachother. I knew what he meant and honesty i don't know if im ready to hear his voice again or see him. My mom took down all the pictures and put away the photo albums. I bit the corner of my lip and i could feel his stare upon me.

I slowly nodded my head. Maybe he's right. He put his hand on my knee and said" are you sure i don't want you to go through this if you don't want to"he looked deeply and concerned in my eyes. "Y-yeahim sure" my voice was a little shakey and it made it seem as a whisper. He nodded his head and reached over to his nightstand and grabbed his remote changing it to the movie set. He played it and i looked at the big screen seeing the first slide. It was written in red saying "ruby's homemade vids " i started fiddling with the ends of gown and grayson was just looking at the screen i was becoming to anxious. I slipped my cold hand into his warm one and looked back at the screen.
