Millie groaned in annoyance as the alarm beside her bed went off repeatedly, making her slam her hand an the annoying rectangular object a few feet away. She slowly sat up noticing that her life last night was just in fact a dream. Instead of being in a loving and caring world filled with friends and happiness, she was alone with little to no friends and no love or happiness. Whipping a few strands of stray hair out of her face Millie yawns before pulling herself out of her warm cocoon of blankets and places on her glasses.

She stands up and stretches popping her back and neck before letting out a quiet sigh as she walks over to her desk and takes a seat. Before her laid sketch pads, markers, pencils, pens, and her computer. Millie gently places the computer in front of her and opens it. She types in her password, her dad's name and birthday, and smiles softly at her background.

It was a picture of her father as well as herself. Sadly her dad never lived the live he was meant to. When Millie was sixteen her father passed away leaving her to go live with her abusive and drug ridden excuse of a mother. That's what started her on her lives journey but not all journeys are adventurous or love bound. No some are vengeful and filled with hatred, much like Millie's. Her father was killed by a older male one night and she sworn that she would find the man who killed him. Tears start to well up in her eyes as she remembers the night. She shakes her head and breaths in deeply not wanting to relive the memories stuck in her head.

So instead she opened Facebook an app she found to actually be pretty helpful when she needed a case or two. She read what people had posted but found absolutely nothing. A bing came from her computer, not expecting the sound Millie jumped and practically fell out of her chair. Steadying herself she hunches over the computer again looking around the screen until a little red one catches her eyes.
"Notification?" Millie spoke to herself a questioning tone filled it as she clicked on the notifications.
"S_W liked your post." She read out loud yet again a frown on her face at the thought of someone liking something she did. Going onto her page she looked at the zero by the friends signaling she had none, which she didn't mind until she needed someone to talk to. She scrolled down and sure enough there was a like and the mystery person's name next to it.

Again another bing went off not scarring her as much as the first. By the notifications there was a one. Millie clicked on it silently readying that she got a friend request from the person from before. She was hesitant for a moment pondering what would happen to the person if she selected accept. In her line of work you can't have people close to you. With a sigh she hovered her mouse other the accept button before softly clicking it.

Realizing she might have put someone in danger she quickly was about to unfriend the person until something popped up in the corner of her screen. A moment later a simple two letter word used to start off almost every conversation appeared. Hi. Millie stared at the simple word debating to respond or not. This might be some pervert or worse a someone trying to find out her location. Feeling a sudden urge to respond though Millie typed a simple, hello? Again the bubbles popped up signaling that the person was typing again.

Thought you wouldn't answer

Millie looked the message over a couple times before settling on a simple why? She still didn't know if she could trust this unknown person all together yet. Again bubbles appeared.

Because most people don't talk to people
they hardly know

Well I'm not most people

She responded not sure where she got the sudden burst of confidence to actually write something like that. She was a relatively shy girl, the "quiet kid" so to speak. There wasn't an answer right away so thinking that the person finally got sick of her Millie decided that she should get ready for the day. She stood up her chair rolling back a few inches as she does so and makes her way into her bathroom. Before taking a shower and brushing her hair and teeth.

An hour passed until she finally walked out of the bathroom a pare of ripped jeans hugged her legs as a red flannel covered her upper half. Putting her hair into a high pony tail Millie walked over to her computer seeing that the person messaged her back about an hour ago. Rushing with her hair she practically threw herself into her chair making it roll away from the deck. Grabbing onto the wood of the desk in front of her she pulled herself back to sit in front of her computer. Typing a pretty hefty sentence about how she was sorry and had to get ready for the day. Knowing the person probably wouldn't respond she slouched back in her chair and sighed.

"I'm not a great person." She scolded herself until a bing reached her ears making her launch forward towards her computer. The same person from before had typed a message.

It's fine really, I went and got ready to so your fine

Millie typed a few words about how she was still sorry and sent it and not even a minute later the person responded.

This might sound weird and everything but do
you think we could meet? Again we don't have
to I just feel better talking to people in person.

Millie read the text twice to make sure she was under standing it well. She didn't know if she could trust this person or not. Not to mention her line of work. She didn't respond for a couple moments and decided to go to the person's page. She checked his location and found that they lived in the same neighborhood. With great hesitation she typed a sure, and waited for him to respond. A moment later bubbles appeared and Millie waited anxiously for his response.

Good and I saw that we live in the same neighborhood so
do you maybe wanna meet at the small cafe on 6th street?

Sounds good

Millie typed still not knowing why she was agreeing to this in the first place. Something felt off about him, but on the other hand this might be someone who knew what happened that night.

Okay see you tomorrow around 5?

I'll be there

Okay bye

Bye

With a sigh Millie closed her computer and proceeds to pack things in a bufflehead bag, getting ready for a hunt a town over. It was a single salt and burn from the looks of it and she needed to get her mind off of the mystery person and the off feeling she has about them.
