Sam's POV:

"So, you guys remember that concert I'm going to next week?" He asked his parents.

"Yeah, what about it Jayden?" His mother asked confusedly.

"Well i was wondering if same could go? I mean she has to. She loves the band even more than I do and is one of my best friends. If she doesn't go with me I'm going to be so upset." He replied. Wow, are his parents actually buying these lies? He sucks at acting so I doubt it.

Meanwhile, I glanced at my parents who looked like thy were ready to kill both Jayden and myself. Great, I knew this would happen. They are going to kill me.

"Well of course Jayden! Anything for you, if it means that much to you of course you can bring her. That is, if her parents let her?" Jayden's father replied, looking at my father expectingly, raising an eyebrow.

"Um- I guess she can go if Jayden really wants her there..." My father replied, obviously trying not to yell and make a bad Impression with his boss.

"Thanks mom and dad, and thanks mr. and mrs. white, I'm sure we'll have a great time!" Jayden yelled smiling.

"Yes... I'm sure..." my dad replied, clearly about to yell.

" Oh! I almost forgot, Sam and I ate going to the park for a little while to hang out. Is that okay?" He asked cheerfully.

"Of course." My mother replied in her fake voice.

"Thanks!" He replied before grabbing my hand and quickly pulling me to the fro to of the house.

Once we were out of sight he released my hand but kept walking down the street, towards the park.

"You coming?" He asked with a smirk.  Without replying I jogged to catch up to him.

"I am so dead later." I mumbled under my breath.

"No you're not. If they try to hurt you just say that if you can't go to the concert my dad will be very upset. You're untouchable until next week at least." He said.

"I hope you're right. But one question, why?" I asked.

"Why what?" He replied.

"Why are you helping me like this?" I asked.

"Well you seem like a great person that I want to get to know better, I had nobody to go to the concert with and had an extra ticket, and when you opened that door there was pure fear on your face and I want to help you so that that changes. Nobody should have to life in fear like that." He finished with a smile.

"Thank you." I whispered.

Without another word, we continued walking towards the park. Once we got there I ran straight to the swings and jumped on like a little kid. Jayden jogged over laughing before sitting on the swing next to me. We ran around the park, going on the swings, a few slides, sitting at the benches in the shade, etc before we decided to walk back. We were at the park for at least 3 hours.

Once we got back to my house we walked inside to see my parents, my sister, and Jayden's parents sitting in the family room talking. Looks like we were gone a little too long, oops.

Once they noticed us, Jayden and my parents stood up.

"Well it was lovely meeting you and your family Mr.White, and it's nice to finally, properly meet you Sam, I'm sorry but we must be on our way." Jayden's father said, first to my father, then to me directly.

"It was lovely meeting your family too sir. I'll see you at work bright and early on Monday!" My father said cheerfully.

"Sam I'll text you later. Concert is next Monday by the way. Make sure your ready!" He said cheerfully before following his parents to the front door.
