The broken regalia {Yukine x reader}

Chapter 2

I was woken up by the feeling of someone pushing me. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Yato poking me. "You're finally awake, come get some breakfast." I sat up and watched as Yato walked out of the room. I got off the bed and followed him downstairs and into a kitchen.

"Good morning, y/n," Hiyori said as she placed a plate of food on the bench for me. "Morning," I responded and began to eat the food. I soon finished my breakfast and saw Yukine walk in.

"Morning Yukine." I cheered. "Morning." was all he mumbled as he sat down to eat. Yato came running down the stairs, "Hurry up and eat, we have a job offer." He yelled cheerfully.

We were walking up to a house for the job offer Yato got before because someone couldn't be bothered to teleport us there. Yato stopped before we knocked on the door. "Are you going to tell us what we're doing or what," Yukine said. "Just wait, don't be so impatient, jeez." Yato knocked on the door and we waited for a response.

A woman opened the door. She was young, around her twenties and looked really scared. "Are you the Yato god?" She peered through the door. "Yes, fast, easy and affordable. I am the delivery god Yato!" He exclaimed. "Don't you think you're overdoing it." Yukine and I said in unison, then laughed quietly at each other.

She let us in and sat us down in front of her. "What seems to be troubling you, you look scared about something," Yato stated. She calmed down a little and looked back at us. " When I go to sleep, I get these weird thoughts in my head. They say things like 'how would it feel if you died right now'. I've had enough of it so I haven't slept for a few days." She explained.

"Could we look in your room?" Yato asked her. "Yeah, sure. Oh, before I forget, I heard that you only take 5 yen, so here." She handed Yato 5 yen. We proceeded to walk in the woman's room. Yato looked around the room and had his eye on something.

"You two, do you see that up there." He pointed to the mirror. I looked at it and saw what he was talking about. It was a small phantom, it looked like a cat, but had enormous scars running from its cheeks to its back. To be honest, it freaked me out.

"What do we do, I feel like if we go near it, it'll attack." I worriedly asked Yato. "Well, I could use Yukine against this phantom if I was close up to it, but we don't want too much damage. Do you think you can handle this phantom y/n?" I nodded as a response.

*3rd person POV*

"Come Mikki," Yato called as y/n transformed into a divine weapon. She was a bow and arrow, glowing with blue and pink. "Woah," Yukine said in amazement as he studied the weapon.

"Move out of the way Yukine," Yato called as he aligned the bow with the phantom. He waited another few seconds before firing. "Yato wait, move the bow a few centimetres to your left to hit it properly." Y/n instructed to make sure the phantom would be hit. Yato did as she said and moved the bow. He released the arrow and it flew away from the bow with a streak of blue and pink following behind it before it hit its target.

The arrow struck the phantom hard enough that it was thrown onto the wall and disappeared around the arrow.

"Revert, y/n," Yato called and she transferred back to normal, including the arrow. "Woah y/n, your regalia form is amazing." Yukine and Yato exclaimed in unison.

*Your POV*

The two of them congratulated me on how well the attack was. We explained to the woman what was causing those thoughts and she thanked us for it. We walked out of her house and wandered around for a bit before Yato spoke up.

"I need you two to meet someone."
