The broken regalia {Yukine x reader}

Chapter 4

We made it back to Hiyori's place after the strange encounter with that strange Nora girl. I wonder why she was looking at me weirdly, I thought to myself as Yato, Yukine and Hiyori talked about something I wasn't paying attention to. "Hey, you alright," Yukine said while he waved his hand in front of my face. "Y-Yeah, I was just thinking about something," I said and yawned. "I think, I'll go to bed now." I tiredly said as I stood up and walked away from the group.

"See you tomorrow y/n!" I heard Yato yell to me. I made my way up to Hiyori's brother's room and flopped on the bed. It didn't take me long to fall asleep.

*dream*

I was sitting at a table full of people, but the thing was, I couldn't see any of their faces. I looked around the table and didn't notice anyone there anyway. "Mei-chan." A childish voice said as I felt something tug on my sleeve. I directed my attention downwards to see a young girl with light-brown hair and bright purple eyes. "Are you alright Mei-Chan?" she asked me.

I didn't answer her, I only stared at her. why was she the only face I could see? Where am I? "Why are you calling me 'Mei-Chan'?" I asked the girl and she gave me a look of confusion, "It's your nickname, silly" She giggled.

My attention was taken away from her when I heard something that I was strangely familiar with hearing. A scream. I shot up from my seat and started to frantically look around. Why am I scared? Do I know these people?

my thoughts were cut short by a colour flashing through my eyes. red. But not normal red. It was blood red, It was all over my hands. I wiped it off onto my clothes, but it appeared on my hands as soon as it disappeared.  I tried to scrub it off but it spread onto my hands faster. My breath quickened as I panicked, I stood up from my seat, knocking it over in doing so.

I looked up and the table, and all of the people that were sitting at the table were sprawled everywhere, lying on the table and the floor.

*reality*

I woke up in a cold sweat, panting like crazy and my heart racing with fear. "What...was....that?" I said between pants. I was still in the same room that I was in when I fell asleep, which relieved me.

"Mei-Chan." I faintly heard come from outside. I walked up to the window but, saw nothing. I walked out of the room and down the stairs. Yato and Yukine were already asleep when I got down there. "Mei-Chan." I heard again and it kept repeating from outside.

I opened the door and looked around, trying to find the owner of the familiar voice. Under a street light, I saw a shadowy figure. "There you are.....Mei-chan." The voice said as I approached it. As I got closer to it, I noticed that it wasn't the little girl from before. It was Nora.

"I knew you would come out here." She said happily, it sort of scared me. "What do you want Nora?" I asked her, she had to be here for a reason. "I just wanted to talk to you for a little bit, that's all." She explained as the smirk on her face became more mischievous by the second.

I heard a small shuffling noise from behind me, I quickly turned around but was cut off by something hitting my stomach. My surroundings became blurry as I lie on the ground with two blurry figures walking up to me.

I felt like I was being picked up and then everything went pitch black. I couldn't think about anything while I was in that state but soon became once again familiar to the sight of darkness in front of me.

I felt something tight around my wrists and legs and started to wake up. "W-where am I?" I said in a shaky tone. "Oh look, she's awake." Said an unfamiliar male's voice. I couldn't see where I was, all I could see was the white cloth covering my eyes. "Who are you?" I asked him, I heard footsteps become louder towards me.

"You don't need to know that now, do you?" His voice was creepy. I then heard lighter footsteps approach me. "What shall we do with you?" The voice, obviously Nora, giggled. "Why am I here?" I asked and slightly moved in the chair I was tied to.

"Will you just shut up already." I felt a cold hand hit my face, followed by a low chuckle. "I don't know what Yato see's in pathetic regalia like you," she added. I am confused, and I am scared because this girl is insane.

Why am I even here, what did I do to her. Yato, Yukine. Please help me. I thought to myself as I received hit after hit.
