Chapter 8

I woke up from my dreamless sleep to the sound of something hitting the floor. I opened my eyes and saw Yato on the floor. "What are you doing?" I rubbed my eyes and looked at him.

"I tripped over something," Yato explained and sat on the ground. I looked around the small room but I couldn't see Yukine anywhere. "Where's Yukine? Did he get up early or something?" I asked Yato. He gave me a mischievous look.

"About Yukine, did something happen between the two of you yesterday?" When he said that I could feel my face burn and I furiously tried to hide it. Every time I think about it I get like this. "Oh, so something did happen. Tell me!" he begged and sat closer to me.

"N-nothing happened, okay." I quickly got up to avoid any more questions about that situation. I walked into the bathroom, locked the door and ran the water in the bath. 'a quick bath should calm me down, right?' I thought as I took my clothes off and saw new ones near the door.

I wondered how they got there and hoped that Kofuku slid them under the door. I turned the water off and stepped into the bathtub.

I enjoyed the warm water for a long time and tried to get my mind off of what happened. " I hope Yukine forgives me for that." I accidentally said that out loud. I got out of the bath and dried myself off.

After I got changed into my new clothes I brushed my hair. I decided to put it in a high ponytail today and I casually walked out of the bathroom. I walked into the living room area and sat down. It seems like a really quiet day today, I hope that we have no jobs today. I heard a lot of noise coming from the kitchen so I went to see what it was.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Yukine putting dishes away. As soon as he saw me he almost dropped the plate that he was holding. "Sorry, did I scare you?" I asked the embarrassed blonde.

"No, it's just, about yesterday." He paused and averted his eyes from mine. "I'm sorry about what happened, I didn't mean to fall over and run into you-" I paused after I said that and couldn't help but remember exactly what happened.

I looked over to Yukine and it looks like he's remembering what happened as well. For a split second, we made eye contact and we immediately looked away blushing. This can't get any more awkward than it already is'.

I thought and began to walk out of the kitchen. But, as I got to the door, someone had to run in and push me back. "sorry y/n." Kofuku exclaimed and helped me up. "uhh, y/n, your skirt." Yukine said and I looked at him. he covered his eyes and pointed to my skirt.

I stared at what he pointed at and quickly pulled my skirt down. 'Ow, Ow, Ow. Yukine, are you having perverted thoughts again, I swear to god!" Yato barged in and yelled at Yukine. "Yato, it's my fault, I fell over and my skirt lifted up a bit," I explained to Yato as he loosened his grip on Yukine's collar.

After that incident, I decided to go for a walk around a nearby park. It wasn't too cold outside, the weather was just right. There was a light breeze and the sun was out. I looked around the scenery and sat down on a swing. I swung on it for a bit and thought. I was caught out of my thoughts as I heard footsteps come towards me.

I looked up and saw Yukine. "Hey, Yukine." I gave him a small wave, he saw me and sat on the swing next to mine. "Can we just forget about what happened yesterday at the café," I said that and looked back at Yukine. "I was just going to talk about that." I giggled and smiled. "I'm glad that this isn't so awkward anymore, just don't tell anyone about that okay?" I told him.

He nodded and I nodded back. We laughed for a bit while telling each other jokes, mostly about Yato. The rest of the day was going well until I heard a familiar voice echo through my head. She sounded angry and also very sad on the inside. My heart ached when I heard her.

"So you can trust him but you can't trust me, Mei-chan."
