The deadly silence was broken by a phone ringing. Morgan got up from the card game and answered the phone.
"Yes, yes. I'll tell them. Thank you. What a relief. Thanks again" she put the phone down on the counter and whispered two fateful words. "Not Dead."
"What?" said Nicky
"Not Dead." she said louder.
Bonnie burst out crying. "She's gonna tell, the police'll know. We're gonna go t'jail."
"Well when they come knockin, I ain't had nothing to do with it." Morgan shrieked. She spent so much time screeching it had started to get on my nerves.
