We Will Be There For One Another

The trip inside the vortex was taking longer than usual, the blue lightning striking around the couple as they fell. This blue light that was being emitted around them was slowly changing into a vibrant purple, just like the one Celetorbis had emerged from previously.

"Hey, it's going to be alright," Barry shouted whilst falling, grabbing onto Cait's hand.

"I know. We can fix this," she shouted back, both of them still falling. It was taking much longer than usual, both of them at this point wondering whether something is wrong. Just at this moment, a bunch of voices could be heard. No obvious source, but voices were there none-the-less. There were quite a few, making it hard to tell what each one was saying, however at this moment various things could be made out.

"We are coming"

"Don't Panic"

"Be prepared"

"We are among you"

"The Speedforce"

Most of it made little sense out of context, but the general gist of what was being said could be made out. They were not alone in this. No idea who, what, or how, but they were not alone. There were others. However, one word specifically stood out.

Speedforce.

Neither Barry or Caitlin had a great idea as to what it meant, but there was something there. It could possibly be related to speedsters, something they had come across in their travels. Charlie, Earth-2 Barry. Nura. Various others that had been mentioned. This could be them. But it is just speculation. Nothing in this world was for certain, that is something they had definitely learnt.

Something started to form around them, they were finally reaching their destination. A world was forming underneath them, and they were seconds from arriving.

After those few seconds, the duo still hand-in-hand, falling onto the newly created ground. They were back where they were before, where they first encountered Celetorbis. And they were not the only ones there. Everyone was back, kneeling in the same semi-circular shape. Celetorbis was standing they, a smile on his face.

"Well, look who has returned. Returned to die. Good choice, if you ask me. Just look at all these people you have saved from torture, Barry. Now, it's time for some fun. This is all punishment, Barry. For what you do in the future. Nothing bad, but I just don't like it. And if I don't like it well I am gonna remove it. 

I'm gonna kill Caitlin now. Right in front of you, in front of all these people. Then I will kill you. Right before letting all these people go. If I feel like it."

He walked up to Caitlin and ripped her out from Barry's hand, and knelt her down in front of everyone.

"Any last words?"

Caitlin was crying, terrified. She opened her mouth and managed to get some words out.

"I... I love you Barry"

All Barry could think was one thing. This was his fault. If he never asked her to come with him, she would never be in this situation. Everything would've been okay. She could have lived a normal life, and been happy. Without all of this chaos. If he had never asked her, it could have all been okay.

It could have all been okay.

Celetorbis had a knife in his hand and reached out.

"Say goodbye, Barry"

Caitlin was on her hands and knees, crying but looking over at Barry, with a look that said 'I love you.'

Celetorbis reached out with the knife, right towards Caitlin's head.

A huge vortex opened up, and bolts of lightning, flashes, all appeared in multiple different colours. These flashes of light all moved towards Celetorbis, knocking him over and another one moving Caitlin into Barry's arms and out of the reach of Celetorbis.

Barry looked down at Caitlin, speechless, giving her a look of "I love you," before they both smiled and shared a quick hug. Afterwards, they both looked up to see what had just happened. There were now 6 figures standing around the area. Looking behind them, they realised that everyone that was originally kneeling in the area was seemingly back in their rightful homes. 

The 6 figures were all wearing their own respective suits, 3 of them recognisable to Barry and Caitlin. Charlie, Nura, Earth-2 Barry. There were 3 others speedsters there, one man wearing a bright yellow and red costume, with a darker skin tone and seemingly younger age. The next was female, wearing a red costume, with a simple eye mask instead of a full-fledged cowl. The last was an older-looking man, wearing again, another red suit, completed with a silver metal hat with yellow lightning bolts attached to the side. 

"Guys, get out of here, we will deal with this," Charlie exclaimed, before looking at the other 5 and them all running towards the now-recovered Celetorbis. There were now lines of lightning all around the area, Celetorbis getting hit constantly, the speedsters forming a pattern of attacks. 

Barry grabbed onto Cait's hand, whilst opening a vortex with the Ciscodrive for them both. Just about to jump in, a blast of energy hit and entered the vortex, destroying it. Looking over, Celetorbis was back on his feet, having knocked out the man in the yellow costume, as well as Nura and Earth-2 Barry. Just Charlie, the other female speedster, and the older flash remained.

Celetorbis kept aiming for the couple, trying to remove them from existence. The remaining speedsters were distracting him slightly, but not enough anymore. Hope was slipping away. Charlie shot the duo a look, before looking back to see Celetorbis knocking the older flash through a vortex, before doing the same with the final flash, leaving just Charlie in the room.

The couple were in each other's arms, waiting for their final moments, just as Charlie shouted something at them.

"Open up a breach!"

Confused as to why, as it has proven little use previously, Caitlin still listened, opening up a breach.

"Jump in on my signal," he shouted, just as Celetorbis had finished closing the breaches that he had just sent the other speedsters through. 

Charlie started running around the room in circles, gaining momentum. He then shouted, whilst still running;

"You guys get back safe. Live a happy life. I will take care of this guy."

Celetorbis was currently charging up an attack and aiming at the duo, just as Charlie shouted.

"GO!"

The pair were about to jump, just as they realised what he was doing. Charlie ran into Celetorbis, picking him up and running him around the room. So fast in fact, that they both started to disintegrate. Running so fast, they both started to die. Charlie opened up a vortex with his last bit of energy and ran through with Celetorbis.

"Come on... we have to go..." Caitlin said, grabbing onto Barry's hand and jumping into the vortex.

Central City, June 18th, 2024, Earth 1

It was a week after the pair and got home. Caitlin had been living in Barry's apartment with him for the past few days, the couple being inseparable. They spent every living moment with each other, never wanting to be apart. 

"Hey, I have an idea."

"What is it?"

"I have something to show you, Cait. Something that you deserve. Something we should do," He finished with a smile, looking her in the eyes, just as they had many times before.
