Starting Over

10 - Small Talk

Ann apologized to the Allen's repeatedly as they decided they would have dinner another day.

Nick and I got a massive lecture about safe sex. "Look I know you both are horny teenagers but that does not give you the permission to just do whatever"

"Oh god mom don't use that word" Nick scrunched his face.

We were siting in the living room couch next to each other while Ann looked disturbed and distraught. As if this was the first time she heard that Nick was a sexual being.

"Mom can you stop your pacing. I swear we weren't doing anything. Don't you trust me." Nick said in a gentle voice.

Ann stopped and her face softened. "Of course I trust you" she paused and sat down in front of us.

Thankfully the conversation didn't last too long and she let us go. I decided I wasn't really feeling dinner and headed to my room.

Nick finally left me alone and said something about meeting up with Scott.

I didn't really want to go to my room and lay there staring at the wall so I decided to pester Chase.

I knocked on his door and in a few seconds he appeared smiling at me. "Hi" he chirped.

He was still wearing his PJs or more so just shorts. "I'm bored." I stated.

He looked at me amused and smiled. "Right and?" He waited for me to respond.

I sighed realizing how desperate I probably sounded. "Entertain me"

He chuckled to himself and shifted a little to the side so I could get a better view of his room. "I would but.." he stopped and glanced inside expecting me to do the same.

I saw Alex naked laying in bed asleep. He was laying on his stomach and the duvet didn't cover anything so his entire ass was out for the world to see. I looked back at Chase and sucked in my lips.

He glanced back at me and smiled. "Just a tad busy"

I laughed and shook my head. "I guess I'll go sulk in my room"

I headed to my room as usual and sat on my bean bag. I pulled out my laptop and started binge watching videos online.

I glanced at my phone and saw a text message from Skylar. I quickly opened it. She wanted to hang out which I was more than ok with.

I quickly got dressed and waited for Skylar to pick me up at the park. I wasn't sure how to explain to her that I was staying at the Jones house and I really didn't feel like it. She pulled into the parking lot and I hopped in.

"Hey girly" she chirped excitedly.

I smiled at her. "So where we headed?"

She tapped her chin. Snapping her fingers her face lit up. "Oh I know! How about hot chocolate?"

I nodded in agreement and she pulled out. "So what have you been up too? I asked her.

She giggled to herself and her cheeks went pink. I raised my eyebrows at her. "What the hell was that?"

She shrugged her shoulders and continued to drive. "Sky you never giggle."

She licked her lips and without saying anything she took one hand off the wheel and pulled down her sweater revealing a hickey.

I gasped. "Who!?" I hit her on the shoulder. "Sky! Who is it!"

She just kept giggling and her cheeks turned to an even darker pink. "I'll tell you when we get our drinks"
