The week dragged on and it was finally Friday. I had made a few other friends some of which were really nerdy others I found out were druggies and a few friends who I thought to my standard was normal. I had gotten close to Skylar which was nice because she was a very positive and exciting person to have around.
When school ended Nick invited me to come to a party his friends were throwing. I was hesitant at first because they were all going to be seniors plus I didn't know anyone going and I knew I would lose Nick ten minutes in.
"Come on it'll be fun!" Nick said sitting on my bean bag.
I folded my legs crisscross applesauce and looked at him. "I don't doubt that its just I feel like I'll be the odd one out"
He shook his head and started pulling on the fuzz of the bean bag. "Don't worry people from your grade will be there as well"
I sighed. "Fine" I mumbled. Maybe I'd find a hot guy. It had been awhile since I did anything with a guy and I was getting sexually frustrated.
He shot up from the bean bag and smiled. "Really! Ok well get dressed you can wear whatever your comfortable but I suggest like a skirt or something." He trailed then left the room.
I groaned. I liked parties but usually with people I knew.
I got up from my bed and walked towards my closet. I had a cute skirt and a top I think I could wear.
I did my hair and makeup and then threw on my clothes. I wore converse instead of heels because I didn't want my feet to fall off. It was 7 by the time I finished and I headed over to Nicks room.
I actually knew where his room was this time and didn't make any terrible mistakes. Ryan and I were still awkward and hadn't spoke since my stupidness. We would make awkward eye contact once in awhile but apart from that it was just silence.
I knocked on Nicks door and opened it. He was already dressed and he lead me downstairs and we were off to whoever's house.
"So you're parents don't care where you are?" I asked because I had noticed he didn't really tell anyone we just left.
He glanced over to me and smiled a little. "No not really. We just have to them that we're going out which I texted her so."
I nodded my head astonished. If I had ever done that i would've been set on fire. Even in my foster home the lady was a total bitch.
I straighten my dress and my hair. I looked at Nick and he was focusing hard on the road. I wondered why he, Ryan nor Cam we're dating anyone. I mean I get the boys sleep around but you gotta wonder.
"What?" Nick asked smirking. "Enjoying the view?"
I rolled my eyes and laughed. "So why don't you have a girlfriend.?"
His face fell and he glanced at me. "Uh I did actually. We had been dating for three years."
I nodded my head. I wasn't sure if I should've asked but I knew I'd never get the chance again. "Oh what happened?"
His face went empty and he stared at the road harder. He didn't reply for awhile until he took a deep breath. "She had cancer and didn't find out until last year but it was too late. She was already at stage four and there was no way of helping her."
I didn't know what to say. "I'm so sorry I shouldn't have asked" I quickly told him.
He shook his head. "No. don't worry about it."
He took a sharp turn and we reached a big house with all the light shining through the windows.
When we entered the music was blasting and teenagers were drinking and dancing. Basically your typical teenage party.
