After setting up my room which was basically throwing my clothes in the closet and hanging photos of me with my friends and family I headed downstairs. The only problem was I forgot the way down. I walked out of my room and stood there. Was I suppose to take a left or a right.Horrible with directions I decided to take a right. I walked down a hallway that looked the same as all the other hallways and saw a door that was slightly open. A figure moved and from the looks of it I think it was Cameron.
"No! I mean yeah we made out and he lifted my shirt but-" she paused "ew no!" She was obviously on the phone with the constant laughing.
I was already on her bad side so instead of snooping like the creep I was I just walked past her room and a left down the hall hoping I was making progress. After 20 minutes of aimlessly walking around I finally found my way downstairs and in the kitchen.
Ann had her back to me and seemed to be deeply focused on whatever she was making. I cleared my throat to signal that I was in the room and not scare her while she had a knife in her hand. "Rob told me to come down here for lunch" I probably sounded so rude and demanding and I mentally slapped myself for opening my mouth.
She turned around with a smile on her face showing off her pearly white teeth that blinded my vision. "Oh right!" She grabbed a plate that was sitting on the counter and placed a sandwich on it. "I hope you like grilled cheese sandwiches. Its just that I'm making dinner and I didn't have time to prepare anything spectacular"
I grabbed the plate from her hand and smiled looking at it. These people were so rich and yet they had normal food. I smiled looking at the sandwich remembering all my childhood memories when I used to eat this for lunch everyday after school. "Its perfect" I whispered more to myself.
I sat down on the kitchen island and watched her cook whatever she was making while stuffing my face with the delicious goodness. As I took another massive bite one of the Greek Gods walked in.
He stared at me and chuckled the sexiest deep chuckle known to man before turning to Ann "Hey Mom? Do you know where I left my keys? Dad wanted me to fill the tank."
"Did you check your room?" Ann said without even looking up
He snapped his fingers before making his way out. "Right.."
I gulped the rest of my sandwich and put the plate in the sink. I wasn't sure whether to leave or idle around so I just sorta stood there being awkward.
Ann noticed and stopped what she was doing to look to me. "How are you liking it here?" she said while washing her knives and hands.
Taken by surprise considering I had only been here 2 hours I raised my eyebrows "Oh um well its a beautiful home and I love my room"
"I'm glad to hear it" she said. She began cutting up vegetables and I realized that she was making sushi. "Have you talked to Cameron or the boys."
I didn't want to tell her that her daughter was a stuck up bitch and that her sons just left me "Oh they're all really nice" I lied.
She smiled again something that I noticed this family did a lot. She checked her watch and grimaced "Oh its almost time for dinner and no ones home" She put her finished sushi rolls in the fridge and cleaned her area. "I'll be right back."
And there I was left alone again.

After an hour of Ann running around to find her husband and screaming at her kids to get home we were all finally seated at the table.
I sat at the end next to Ann while Rob sat next to her and the brothers and sister sat in front of us. I didn't look up from my plate because I was to scared to make eye contact with anyone and lose my shit.
"So how old are you?" a husky voice came and broke the silence. I looked up to see either Ryan or Nick smirking while taking a sip of his water.
I cleared my throat and tried my best to keep my cool "I just turned 17 this past November"
He nodded his head and proceeded back to eating.
"So what was life back in New York" Rob asked
I took a gulp of my water and placed on this cute little coaster they had. "Loud"
Ann and Rob laughed and in the corner of my eye I noticed Cameron roll her eyes for the billionth time. "I mean I lived in Brooklyn so its a little different from here"
"Oh I've always wanted to go to Manhattan" Chase piped. Everyone looked at him and raised their eyebrows. He put his hands up in defense "What? It looks like a nice place"
They all laughed except Cameron who was getting on my nerves. I looked back at Chase who was still laughing. "Yeah it's actually really beautiful. I had a friend that lived their and I would always go visit her and I never wanted to leave"
"If you never wanted to leave then why did you come here?" Cameron's first words to me were filled with venom and pure disgust.
The room went silent and everyone looked at her. I was about to open my mouth when Ann's voice cut me off. Her eyebrows were raised and her stare was cold. "Excuse me?"
Cameron immediately avoided eye contact with her and started playing with her food. "I-I m-mean-" she stuttered.
Ann was wiping her mouth with the white napkin and then placed her chopsticks down. "Apologize" her voice turned stern and scary compared to when I first met her.
Cameron didn't say anything and just looked up and gave me the eye. I looked at the boys who were all serious and quiet.
"Now!" Ann raised her voice and slammed her glass on the table.
I was shocked and the sudden change in mood and actually felt bad for Cameron. "Mrs. Jo-" I cleared my throat "I mean Ann. Y-you don't have to-"
"No." She cut me off again. She looked to Cameron and stared at her. "She's been acting like this all week and I'm disgusted with this new attitude of hers." She took a deep breath. "So I'm going to say this one last time. Apologize. Now."
I sat there feeling uncomfortable. I didn't expect to spend my first day here with an enemy and an argument to spring out. All eyes were on me and Cameron quietly said, "sorry"
She got up from the table with visible tears in her eyes and whispered "excuse me"
There was a sigh that came from Rob. "Honey. Cant you go easier on her"
"I'll go check on her" Ryan mumbled and got up followed by Nick. Chase however stayed and gave me a small smile before helping to clear the table.
Ann seemed really upset so Rob took her upstairs and left me with Chase.
As we cleared the table the curiosity was eating at me but I didn't wanna seem rude."Just ask" Chase said smiling while putting the plates in the dishwasher.
I looked up at him and sighed. "Why doesn't she like me?" I finally asked. "I mean she gave me this look since I stepped foot into this house"
"Shes not exactly excited about not being the only sister" he shoved the last glass into the upper rack and turned the machine on.
While his back was towards me I rolled my eyes. I was so right. She was a stuck up bitch.
"I know what you're thinking" He turned around and smirked.
I folded my arms across my chest and stared into his vibrant green eyes trying not to smile. "Oh yeah and what exactly is that?"
He shook his head and chuckled. There was a loud beep that interrupted our little moment and he pulled his phone out of his pocket. His face fell serious and he put his phone away. Giving me a wink he began walking out the door. "The princess calls" he said before disappearing.
I took a deep breath when I realized I was holding it in. I touched my cheeks and they were burning hot. I wanted bang my head on the wall for blushing and his stupid wink.
This family really had a way with making exits.
