When I woke up I was still in my clothes from yesterday. I checked my phone and noticed a few missed called from Skylar.

I immediately called her back remembering our conversation from yesterday.

"Hello" she answered in a small voice.

"Hey Sky" I said softly. "Are you okay?"

There was a small pause. "Yeah I'm okay."

I sighed a little. "Are you busy today?" I asked. I really wanted to get out of this house. It was cursed for me as bad things kept happening.

"No why?" She counter asked.

"Do you want to hang out?" I tried pushing. I really hoped she said yes because I didn't want to spend the entire day with this family again.

She let out a deep breathe. "Sure you can come over whenever just shoot me a text" with that she hung up.

She was clearly still in a lot of pain.

I took a shower and got dressed in some jeans and a sweatshirt. I put on a beanie covering wet hair and walked downstairs. As I walked towards the fridge there was note from Ann. "Hey kids your father and I needed some alone time for the day so just grab lunch and dinner on your own. There's left overs in the refrigerator"

As I waited for my Uber to arrive since I technically don't have any rights to any car I sat on the sofa and turned on the discovery channel.

From the corner of my eye I watched Nick walk down the stairs shirtless and in his pj pants. He looked up towards me with a plain expression.

He wasn't alone. A girl wearing nothing but his buttoned down shirt from yesterday followed close behind him.

Ryan's words echoed in my head. "And I really think he just did it because he's desperate and you were in an easy target" Feeling overwhelmed with too many emotions I looked away and turned off the TV. Avoiding eye contact I got up to leave.

The Uber pulled in right in time.

When I got to Skylars house she was still in her pajamas and looked like she hadn't showered in a couple days. "Oh Sky" I said as I pulled her in a hug.

She softly cried in my shoulder and I held her there. "It's okay. Shhh" I whispered.

After she calmed down I tried to lighten up the mood. "You need to shower" I chuckled.

She laughed a little and looked at herself in the mirror. "Oh god yeah I do"

As she was showering I went down to her fridge and pulled out some ice cream and drizzled warm melted chocolate over it.

When she came down she beamed. "Are we stuffing our emotions with dessert and junk food"

I laughed. "Oh you bet we are" I tossed her a spoon and cuddled up next to her by the TV as we watched sappy romance movies.

We probably watched at least three two hour long movies before her parents walked in. I immediately straightened up and waited for Sky to introduce me.

"Mom, dad this is Lenox. I met her at school" Skylar told them.

They smiled and her mother pulled me in for a hug. "Nice to meet you sweetheart"

They left to go to there room and we continued on with the movie. "We should grab fries" Skylar said with a big smile on her face.

I cocked my eyebrows up. "Why so sudden?"

She shifted her body and faced more towards me. "Because we can dip them in our ice cream!" She said as if it was the most obvious reason.

I laughed. "Well I can't deny that logic" I was a little hungry anyway.
