Every man and woman in the room took a gun out and pointed it at Eden. They outnumbered her battle skill. The cold barrel of a gun was on her Janus Tattoo. Eden slowly put her two hands together and removed their stones. A high pitched tuned was emitted that made everyone cover their ears. The gun on her neck was taken back. She grabbed the gun and broke his arm. She took the gun and fired it twice; one next to her right ear and then one next to her left. She could no more hear as she ripped both her acoustic membranes.
She grabbed Milo, placed the gun on her head pushing her forward to the exit among people screaming and vomiting on the floor. The elevator door behind them opened. She saw elevator's lights on the floor and turned her gun to the opening door while her stiletto was pressing Milo's chest. As soon as the door opened, she let Milo fall on the floor and grabbed her gun with both hands aiming at the man who was standing in front of her.
The man smiled to her and let his guns fall on the ground. Eden hesitated. She was capable of shooting anyone in cold blood, herself included in necessary but she could never shoot that guy. She threw her gun away and rushed into the elevator closing the door behind. He hit her hard on the face. It took her a couple of seconds to get her shit together but by that time he had already removed her stilettos. She kicked him as hard as she could but her dress was minimizing her battler skills. He kicked her on the head so hard that she started bleeding from her nose and ear. She looked into his eyes. He was determined to finish what he started. She knew that expression well enough. "Preservation" was the only word blinking inside her mind. This was definitely not a moment to play hero but to survive.
He took her stilettos and made an incision to her temple. Eden stayed still. She knew that he wouldn't give it a second thought before he punched that stiletto further into her skull. That blade could cut a bone in two like butter. Once her chip was revealed, he took another chip from the back of his ear, placed it on the first one and hit it with his palm.
Eden screamed but she wasn't able to hear her own scream. He was just there to declare his war. He wasn't there to kill her. He would have already done it if that was the case. He made her look into his eyes once he was done. He stood up and left as the door opened.
All that she ever asked from him was never to stand in her way. She wouldn't fight him unless she had to kill him. He was the one she demanded to be excluded from this deadly spiral. That agreement kept him safe all that time.
She watched Ed walking away till he disappeared outside the building. He was back and he had just declared his war.
