as the big hand on jimin's watch hit the half way mark, he took a deep breath and tried to retain the little composure he had left in him. it was odd, really, why he was feeling so nervous; it wasn't as though it was his first time meeting yoongi, or even his first time speaking to him, but there was something about the reason as to why they were meeting that made him anxious.

what if after all this time sending notes back and forth, yoongi realised he didn't like jimin after speaking to him outside of the restaurant? or worse, what if jimin didn't like yoongi? would things ever go back to the way they had been before?

jimin's mind became so entangled in negative thoughts that he failed to notice the blonde boy stood in front of him, his hands flailing in an attempt to garner the youngers' attention.

"jimin," yoongi's deep voice snapped him out of his daydream, earning an embarrassed facial expression accompanied by a dusting of red on his cheeks.

"y-yoongi, hi! have you been here long?"

"nah, just got out," he smiled, adding to the warmth that jimin already felt,. "did you want to walk?"

jimin nodded. they began walking aimlessly, neither of them having an end destination in mind, instead just choosing to enjoy each other's company and take in the beauty of the world around them. after forty minutes of mindless wandering, they reached a small park. (a/n: no. dont even think about it)

"i always love this time of year," jimin spoke, breaking the silence that had settled between them.

"why? the trees are barren and the leaves are dead, and the weather is so cold and rainy."

jimin giggled, finding it adorable how pessimistic yoongi's outlook on autumn was. "you see, those things you've mentioned there are exactly what make it my favorite season."

yoongi stopped walking and turned to face jimin, confusion evident on his soft features. "you like dead things? i never pegged you as a morbid person."

"i'm not morbid, you pabo! i just see things differently to you, that's all. for instance, you see barren trees, but i see the beginning of a new life. you see dead leaves, and i see a spectrum of warm hues waiting to be ventured through. and the rain? it's just cleansing the earth, helping it purify itself after the suffering it endured the rest of the year. starting afresh."

jimin had so many thoughts like this on the daily, which is the reason he began writing his tips to yoongi in the first place. he wanted his thoughts to be heard, and he constantly counts himself lucky that yoongi wanted to listen.

"that was deep. i guess you truly do see beauty in the most mundane things."

yoongi started to walk again, resuming their slow pace as they neared a familiar looking building. "i know we've only just left, but... it seems apt."

"i couldn't agree more."

"it's weird being on the other side of the table for a change. now i see why you keep coming back here, these seats are actually super plush."

"i didn't come back for the cushioned furniture, yoongi. i have my own comfortable seats at home."

yoongi's brows furrowed, not entirely grasping the reason behind jimin's frequent visits - even though it was patent. "do you really enjoy the food that much? i've seen the way they cook it and i wou-"

jimin cut yoongi off mid rant, with his hand pressed firmly down onto his mouth. "you talk too much." the blonde's eyes widened, and jimin could feel his skin heating up against his palm, so he chose to remove it before he suffocated the older boy. "i kept coming back because of you."

"bull," yoongi retorted. "you only started speaking to me out of pity."

the brunette shook his head, a little hurt that yoongi would think so lowly of him, but tried not to dwell on the negatives. "im not joking, hyung. do you really think i would come all the way here just to order water and fruit slices? it would be a pointless journey, but it wasn't because you were here."

the two boys sat in silence for a few moments, with nothing but an air of joy surrounding them.

"you know, i actually requested to be your server when i saw you walk in for that first time. there was no way i was letting taehyung or jungkook get their grubby paws on you, you were far too pretty."

"you think im pretty, hm?" jimin said, walking his fingers up yoongi's arm - which was resting lazily on the table - halting when he reached his shoulder.

yoongi stared down at jimin's hand, his breath hitching as the younger boy's fingertips suddenly came into contact with his forehead, brushing his fringe out of the way so more of his milky skin was on show. "you're pretty too, hyung. super pretty."

the blonde blushed, embarrassed as he was unable to hide his shy side from jimin. "s-should we order now?"

"good idea."
