"are you sure?"

"babe, i've never been surer of anything in my life. don't you trust me?"

"i trust you."

"good."

yoongi stood back and admired his handy work. four perfectly painted walls, cream in colour and smooth in texture, newly decorated with a single photograph from his -and jimin's- first time to hawaii. it was a simple photo which a tourist kindly took for them (after fumbling over their words and ending up just saying "camera please", which they thankfully understood) in front of a palm tree on the beach, clad in stereotypical tourist attire consisting of a far-too-overpriced hawaiian shirt and cargo shorts.

"i hate it. take it down," jimin mumbled as he stretched his short arms out to pull the frame from the wall. "my cheeks look so fat."

yoongi grabbed his fiance's arm before he could continue, pushing it back down so it reached his side, holding it there as he let out a heavy sigh. "you don't look even a little fat. what have i told you about this self-hatred?"

jimin blushed, still not used to being scolded after almost 2 years as a couple. "that it's stupid and damaging. and that..." he trailed off, closing his eyes as he always hated repeating the next part.

"hmm?" yoongi pried, trailing his fingers up so they were now sat comfortably on jimin's shoulder.

"and that i'm perfect no matter what; no chubby cheeks or stubby fingers will change that," he finished, mocking the elder's tone towards the end of the sentence.

"good boy. now, can i leave the photograph?"

with a shy nod of his head and a pout too cute to resist, jimin agreed. yoongi wasted no time in letting his gummy grin overtake his face, before pressing a quick kiss to jimin's lips - which were basically begging for attention with that pout.

as the two boys took one final glance at their last addition to the apartment, they smiled. although this was just the start of their life, they felt like it had been this way forever; so comfortable and homely, as though things had been this perfect the entire time and none of the little hiccups happened.

jimin was still left smiling at the photograph - not really at it, per se, but more towards it - as yoongi sat down in the living room, making himself comfortable on the plush leather cushion beneath him.

he let out a short sigh, turning his head to jimin to gain his attention as he spoke. "remind me again why we settled for a leather sofa? these things get so hot in the summer." the now-raven haired boy shuffled in his spot, trying to find a position where his skin didn't stick to the material. "should've taken mine..."

"yours had holes in, yoongi. we needed new furniture." jimin had now placed himself down next to the other - well, more like on the other - and was already changing the channel (but yoongi didn't care, really). "do you want to order dinner?"

"i thought you'd never ask."

_____

"i don't think this was a very good idea, babe," yoongi whined as he eyed the five different dishes spread out on their new oak wood dining table. "we're only small, this much food is gonna consume us - not the other way round."

jimin's face had a 'try me' expression on it as he scoffed. "are you chickening out on me, min yoongi? i don't remember agreeing to marry a coward." his voice held a mocking tone, but yoongi knew he meant it jovially.

however, he did always enjoy teasing jimin, and seeing him flustered was his third favourite expression he wore.

"are you saying you don't want to marry me if i can't eat this food? the wedding is next month, jimin - you can't do this to me!"

yoongi always considered himself something of an actor. he claimed that his 'charm and incredulously good looks' added to the fact he was naturally gifted in the arts, so to keep up this hurt charade would be a piece of cake.

"y-yoongi, no! please, i-i'm so sorry, i-"

"oh my god, babe. your face!"

jimin's lips were curved downwards in an upside-down crescent shape, and his eyes followed suit. he had a tiny bit of barbecue sauce still on his lip as he stopped mid-chew to hear yoongi's response, and the older boy was instantly regretting his tease.

"w-what?" jimin quivered out, his eyes still a little glazed-over where tears had began to form. "what are you talking about?"

yoongi couldn't bring himself to respond verbally straight away, seeing as guilt was encompassing his every being, so instead he cupped jimin's cheeks and pecked his forehead. "i'm so sorry, i-i just wanted to play with you a little, but i didn't know it was going to upset you so much. i'm so so sorry, i-- wait, are you giggling?"

he was. jimin was fucking giggling into his hand as he listened to yoongi become increasingly flustered. "you're such a sucker!"

"hey, i thought we agreed to keep that kind of information priv-- wait, what?" now it was yoongi's turn to be confused. "what are you talking about?"

"you're really not a great actor, babe. but i guess i am, huh?" jimin said with a wink, quickly returning to eating his food as though nothing had happened. "love you!"

yoongi was pouting now, but still grumbled a small response. "love you too, asshole."

silence overcame them as they tucked into their feast - barbecue chicken and ribs being the main stars of the show - enjoying every second of the time spent together.

maybe domestic life was beginning to suit yoongi, after all.
