=part 3, full chapter=

"i don't think we should get married, yoongi."

jimin couldn't believe he let those words spill from his lips. he knew he would regret them instantly, but it was what his mind was thinking in that moment.

"w-wait, jimin - baby - do you hear what you're saying right now?" yoongi spoke, tears brimming in his eyes for the first time in forever, "think about the ramifications of those words. you... you don't mean it, right?"

the youngest of the two boys sat with a stoic expression on his face, unreadable and alarming. despite this, his body language told a different story: his fingernails were being picked at ruthlessly, his foot tapping at an irregular rhythm as he bounced his knee to calm his nerves.

"i'm really not sure what i mean. i just-" jimin cut himself off to take a deep breath, shuffling himself forward to sit next to where his fiancé was on the edge of the bed, "i just feel disappointed. how could you, after all the time you've known me, think that i could do something like that to myself?"

he was evidently heartbroken, and yoongi could practically feel it radiating off of him. without thinking, he pulled jimin into his chest and held his head close to where his heart lay.

as yoongi pressed soft kisses onto the brunette's hair, he mumbled small and almost incoherent apologies, finally feeling an ounce of regret for how he had treated jimin.

"i love you, i love you so mu-"

"i still don't forgive you, yoongi. you made me feel worthless; do you know what that feels like?" jimin allowed yoongi to continue with his apologies and shows of affection - because who would turn them down? - but he was still standing strong with his point. "it made me question everything, when you accused me. would i be a bad parent? will my kids understand why their dad injects himself regularly? how could they if you don't?"

"don't you dare say that. you know you're going to be amazing parent one day, and whatever you're going through, you know i will support you," yoongi spoke as his fingers interlaced themselves between strands of jimin's hair, "forever and always."

much to the joy of both boys, the room fell silent, yoongi's words ringing in their ears still, and the only sound now heard was from taehyung's persistent giggling and the light hum of music.

neither of them wanted to move, but time was getting on and it was almost midnight already; this was a new years party, so missing the clock striking twelve may be the biggest crime possible, after all.

"hey, come on," the blonde boy requested, breaking the silence and propping jimin's body up a little, "lets go and celebrate."

jimin pulled himself entirely off of yoongi, now, and stood up to walk towards the door. "we're okay, aren't we?" the older boy asked, his voice small and broken.

it was a hesitant answer, but one that jimin truly believed. "we will be."

with a slight smile and a polite bow of his head, he left yoongi sitting on the bed and returned to their friends in the living area. it seemed that in the small while they had been absent, a few others had turned up - including a face jimin wasn't familiar with.

as he got closer to the group of boys, jungkook noticed, and made a big deal of his presence.

"jimin, you're back!" he pointed out; an obvious remark, which made taehyung roll his eyes, "we wanted to introduce you guys actually, so this is perfect timing."
