Breeze flows through my hair and tickles my face, which brings me out of my "small" nap. I take a moment and then look up to see where Cicero was. A smile comes to my face as I see him curled up in the same position as he was. I don't want to wake him up, he always looks so tired. Those bags under his eyes never really go away.
Trying my hardest to not move too fast and wake him, I get up and brush myself off. I look around for a moment and realise, we had slept in for so long, that it was nearly sunset. I guess we both needed the sleep.
My stomach makes the familiar grumble and my hand instinctively goes to my belly. There has gotta be something I can eat around here. I look left then right and see nothing. Until I take a double take and see a pesky little treat..
I sneak over to the pest and pull out my bow and aim carefully at the creature.
...
Damn I missed the first shot, another will do just fine.
...
Great! Direct hit. If I missed that time I'd be extremely disappointed in myself. I walk over to it and thank the gods, cause it looked delicious.
I carry it back to where cicero was sleeping. I suppose I should start a fire, for both reasons. It'll be cold out soon, and we did need something to cook this delicious mudcrab in.
I set the Mudcrabs body down and go to collect some sticks and some water. I actually carried a cup that was big enough to fit at least like, four mudcrab legs in it. I first go and get sticks and set them up in a little cone shape. I take out a box of matches and take one out and light it. I throw it into the fire along with the bag from the sweet rolls for the igniter.
I then set back to the water to fill it up with water. I'm glad I'll be boiling this water because it's quite dirty. With the cup full of creek water I walk back to the fire and set it in the middle of the cone so it would start boiling.
I grab at the Mudcrab and rip of its limbs. To keep myself occupied while the water is boiling I play around with the crab a bit. " Hehe hoho I'm a crab and I look ever so fab when my legs are unwrap..ed?" Ok so i'm not the best at rhymes.
I look back at the sun, it was just setting. I watch as the thing that made the day so nice, leave over the high mountains.
...
So now I check the water to see if it is boiling. Annnnnd.... HAZAH! It is boiling! Although next is just more waiting. I shove five legs in, which didn't really fit in the small cup but I was just kinda hoping it would work.
I sit back for a moment and I don't really like how it feels to be out at night, around all this dangerous happenings. . So to get my mind off of the i'll craft some plates. I scavenge around and find some thicker branches. About seven give me a pretty wide plate, so I tied it together and set it down. I stand back up to find more sticks.
I grab some sticks and.. I walk back to camp and see Cicero sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
" Good morning Princess." I see with a smile on my face carrying the sticks.
He looks around and up at the sky with a dumb look on his face. " Well... I'd hardly call it morning." He aussered back to me. " Oh Listener, what are you cooking?" He says pointing to the fire;
I set down the sticks and start to tie them together. " Mudcrab legs, I was dying of hunger and you were sleeping so I just made us some dinner." I threw his his plate and give a kind of " whatever" shrug.
