Your POV

You take a deep breath and climb the stone steps of the Greek-looking building. A new year at college. Woo. Yay. Notice the lack of enthusiasm. After all, everyone you know is going to be here this year. Including the one person you do not want to see.

“(Y/N)!” You hear excited squealing from behind you as you reach the top step. Someone grabs you around the neck, almost dragging you back down the steps.

“Lauren, off,” you snap at her, pulling her off your back and turning. She’s super peppy as usual, unlike you. Her green blouse, white skirt and black boots outfit looks nice on her. You notice her eyes are electric blue today.

“Eye color change?” you ask.

She grins. “Actually, they have a new rule about colored contacts. They’re a no-no on school grounds.”

“Oh, yeah, that’s your natural color, isn’t it? It’s been a while.”

She shrugs. “I like green better than blue, what can I say?”

You look at your watch. “Shoot, I’m going to be late!”

“You have the early English course too?”

“Yeah, now come on. We don’t want to be late first day.”

You manage to reach class with only seconds to spare. The eight o’clock bell starts ringing, and the professor stands and begins talking, learning names and such. You sigh in relief and relax.

A few minutes in, someone knocks on the door. The professor frowns slightly, then goes over and opens it. From this angle, you can’t see who it is. You suddenly feel panicky; what if it’s that guy again?!

“Young man, you do realize you are late, correct?” There’s a small, likely apologetic murmur. “Oh, first time here? I’ll let it slide this once, then, but you’d best know the campus by next class.” Affirmative noise.

Lauren taps your shoulder. “(Y/N), are you okay?”

You give her a strained smile. “I’m fine, Lauren.” She nods, but it’s obvious she doesn’t believe you.

“(Y/N), Lauren, your attention?” We turned to the front, where the professor stood with some other guy wearing a green hoodie, hood covering his face. “Now, let’s get back to our discussion. Err... what would your name be?”

“Um... Cry. Call me Cry.” You jump about a foot.

“...Alright. Find a seat, Cry.” Of course, he sits right next to you, probably since you and Lauren are the only ones not snickering at his name. He looks down at his notebook, carefully not looking at anyone.

You think for a moment, then tap his shoulder. “If you think you’re invisible, you aren’t.”
