Your POV

You wave goodbye to Pewds and Marzia. Yeah, you’ve known them for less than a day, but you feel like you’ve known them longer.

You glance over at Cry. “So, did you have fun today?” you ask, unable to stand the awkward silence any longer. He doesn’t reply. You frown. “Cry?”

He jumps a bit and turns to you. “Huh? What?”

“Cry, are you okay?”

He looks at the road again. “I’m fine. Just tired.”

You nod and stare out the window for a minute. “So, did you have fun today?” you ask again.

“Huh? Oh, of course. An amusement park is made for having fun, right?”

“Well, that doesn’t mean you’ll actually have fun.”

“Well, it was fun, okay?”

You try to start a conversation a few more times, but each of your attempts fall flat. After a few minutes, you give up and spend the rest of the drive in silence.

Cry pulls into the building’s parking lot and you both climb out. “Thanks for inviting me along,” you say. “It was fun.”

“Sure,” he says, not really listening. You shrug and enter your apartment.

Cry’s POV

After (Y/N) goes to her apartment, I head upstairs to mine. After entering my room, I flop on the bed and sigh. I feel like a jerk after that car ride, but I just couldn’t focus on what she was saying. I have a lot on my mind.

Among other things, I’m going to avoid houses of mirrors from now on.

(Flashback)

“Awww,” Marzia coos loudly as I come out of the haunted house with (Y/N), my arm around her shoulders. Pewds notices, too, and whistles loudly. It doesn’t bother me, but I feel (Y/N) tense. She pulls away, and I let her, not wanting to make things awkward. Well, I guess they are anyway, since she’s carefully not looking at me.

I grimace. Dang it guys, that was a nice moment. I found I enjoyed hugging her like that, and their little act ruined it. I can’t very well say so, though, so I said the first thing that came to mind. “Guys, next time you shove someone in a haunted house, make sure they can deal with ghosts, okay?” Well, bleep. I sound like a scoldy parent.

“Well, it gave you some bonding time. We saw you hugging.”

(Y/N) had been looking more normal colored, but she turned bright red again at this. “You- will you guys stop that?!” she snaps. Marzia scolds Pewds and apologizes to (Y/N). I’m beginning to feel the urge to give Pewds a Brofist to the face.

“So, are we gonna do other stuff?” I’m proud to say I only sounded slightly strangled.

They start choosing our next destination, and I zone out. I’m suddenly really tired, not that there’s any real reason. Probably just from being annoyed.

I eventually notice that we’ve started moving again, and I’ve unconsciously been following. We end up at the house of mirrors and go in.

I follow, lost in thought, most of it rude. For some reason that haunted house thing keeps bugging me. It’s a big deal, though, so I shouldn’t make it one.

“Oh, but it is! If it matters to you, it’s a big deal!” I jump, hearing someone familiar but not speak to me. I look around, noticing that I apparently lost the others somewhere. Nobody else is here; just me and my many reflections.
