Your POV
“Okay, thanks for watching! See you all next time!” Cry closes the stream and sighs tiredly.
You know how he feels. It doesn’t look like streaming would be that tiring, but it’s exhausting. You’re exhausted.
You look at the clock and laugh slightly. Six o’clock. “Wow, Lauren’s going to be up in a couple hours. And we haven’t even gone to sleep.”
Cry shrugs. “Guess I’m used to it by now.”
You suddenly think of something. “Hey, are we going to end up in that dream world place again?”
“Well, maybe. I don’t go there every night, just most nights. You can never know for sure.”
You nod. “Right. Well, I’ll be heading downstairs then.”
“Why not just take the couch? Stairs are harder than you’d think when you haven’t slept.”
“Eh, whatever.” You’re too tired to really care. You turn toward the door, then pause, turning back. “Wait, where are you going to-” You stop talking as Cry starts snoring softly. Well, that answers that. You go out to the living room and settle yourself on the couch.
As soon as you close your eyes, you open them to a familiar fuzziness. So, here you are again.
“Welcome back.” You sit up and turn to see Virus leaning against the wall.
“Thanks, I guess.” Something occurs to you. “Hey, is this your home on this side?”
“Well... not really, no. Since we don’t sleep or eat or anything, Dream Weavers don’t really need homes, so we create our own little zones that are perfect to us.”
You consider that for a moment. “I guess I get it. What’s yours?”
“It’s a beach, but a little unreal. Hard to describe, though. Like any dream.”
“Makes sense. Hey, wait a sec, how come Cry isn’t here?”
Virus shrugs. “Beats me, if he’s asleep he should be here.”
“I’m here, I’m here. Just having some regular dreams before joining you.” Cry steps in from his room. “So, did I miss anything important?”
“Nope,” Virus replies. “Just chitchat.”
Cry frowns. “Hey, is something wrong? You sound off.”
“Things are... difficult right now. Don’t worry about it, I’ve got things under control.”
“It’s Mad, isn’t it?”
Silence for a minute. Then Virus sighs. “Why couldn’t that guy have stayed away longer?” he mutters under his breath. He speaks a bit louder so we can hear. “Yes, it’s Mad. But I’m going to make sure nothing happens to either of you. It’s my job, and I’ll admit I’m not half bad at it.”
“Wait, are we in some kind of danger?” You ask, confused.
Virus looks over at you. “Well, here's a brief explanation. Most Dream Eaters aren’t too bad. As an example, as long as you’re aware that she’s there, I doubt Elizabeth could hurt you in any way. But Mad is different. He’ll do anything to get what he wants. And he wants his targets dead or on his side. He’s attached to Cry as a target, but he seems to have branched to you. So yeah, you’re in danger.”
Cry frowns. “Wait, what happened to Elizabeth? She’s not exactly a minor Eater; she wouldn’t stand by while someone snatched her prey.”
“Well, that’s another thing. Apparently, they’ve joined forces.”
