Mad's POV

I stare at the mirror as (Y/N) fidgets worriedly. She's clearly on the verge of panicking, and I'm enjoying observing her pain.

"So what was the point of attacking that girl?" Elizabeth's voice snaps me out of my thoughts.

I carefully don't scowl. It never helps to scowl when someone's being chicken witted. "To cause mental pain, what else?"

"Yeah, but how does that help us?"

Ugh, this stupid girl. I don't voice my thoughts though, being used to dealing with such incompetance. "Well, Lizzy - can I call you Lizzy?"

"No."

Oh, a sore spot? Good. "Well, Lizzy," I continue, smirking at her expression, "Making (Y/N) mentally fragile will help us in the long run. Besides," I add before she can reply, "Don't you like the thrill of seeing people hurt?  Watching as their blood drips on the ground, seeing their pain?" I know I sound crazy, and that's good. My craziness is incredibly infectious.

She's silent for a moment, then grins. "Point taken. So what's our next move?"

I grin back. "We wait. I want to see every bit of this." Especially Relna. Can't wait to see her reaction.

Virus's POV

"What the heck are they thinking?!" Relna yells at the dummies, kicking off another stuffed head.

I look around the lot. She's 'killed' about half the dummies, and I'm wondering how many more she'll get before the one minute regen time. "It's pretty obvious what they were thinking. Anyway, how come you didn't mention Elizbeth's so-called contact?"

She slices through another batch of dummies with that rod thing of hers. "Never seemed important. I didn't know you could control a person through that link!"

I frown. "Yeah, neither did I. But seriously, can you calm down? Getting angry won't help much, that's their thing."

She pauses and turns toward me, eyes blazing. "So I shouldn't get mad? What should I do? How should I react to this?" She suddenly loses the angry expression and almost looks like she's going to cry. "What'll I do if the worst happens?" she almost whispers, sinking to her knees.

I'm surprised and worried. I've known her for a while now, but I've never seen her look scared, or even sad. I walk up to her and pull her into a hug.

"It will be okay," I try to reassure her. I honestly have no idea how to make her feel better. "I'm sure things will turn out okay."

"I guess I just have to believe that," she whispers, so quiet I can barely hear it.

Cry's POV

Apparently we got Lauren to the hospital just in time. They managed to do an emergency transfusion, and she's recovering now. They don't know when she'll wake up, but she'll be okay. That's what matters. Me and (Y/N) called the college, telling them that the three of us might be out the next few days. The administrators were perfectly willing to grant us sick days.

That was yesterday. We stayed overnight, and we're still here, waiting for Lauren to wake up. I picked up some stuff from our place, but aside from that, we've just stayed with Lauren the whole time. I don't think either of us have even slept.

"Cry? You there?" I look over at (Y/N), but she isn't looking at me. Nobody else is here, though... "Cry, it's me, Virus. Are you listening?"

I blink a few times in surprise. "Wait, you can talk to me here?" I ask in a low voice, so (Y/N) won't hear.
