(A/N) Warning: the following chapter is longer than usual. Yay, flood of inspiration!

Cry’s POV

I’m impressed. Not just by Lauren’s gaming ability, although that is nothing to sneeze at. What’s impressive to me is what a good friend she is.

(Y/N) was a bit down after the Kyle thing, not that she would say anything. At one point, she left to get a drink or something like that.

Lauren got suddenly serious. “Cry, what happened? I figure it wouldn’t help to ask her, but I’m guessing you’ll tell me.”

By now, I know full well the consequences of not telling Lauren what she wants to know. Besides, there’s no reason she shouldn’t know. “Kyle showed up and was being a jerk again.”

She scowled. “I wish that guy would leave her alone! After what he did, he has the nerve to start acting like he needed to forgive her!” Her eyes sparked brightly, even through the contacts.

“Nobody ever told me what happened,” I commented. “Did he cheat or something?”

She hesitated a bit, glancing toward the kitchen. She lowered her voice. “Don’t tell her I told you about him, kay? Short version, Kyle started out as a nice guy, but when things started going bad for him, he took it out on her. Physically and emotionally. She was in a bad place for a while.”

I grimace. “Well, I’m glad she left him.”

“Yeah, he didn’t deserve someone as good as (Y/N),” Lauren agreed. Then she smirked at me. “As her friend, though, I’d say you do.”

I felt myself blushing. “W-what?”

“Oh, don’t bother hiding it. You guys make a good couple, and I’m wishing you all the best!”

(Y/N) came back at this point. “What are you guys talking about?”

“Nothing,” Lauren said, managing to almost sing the word.

She looked at me, and I just shrugged. So she dropped it and we went back to our game.

Over the next few hours, whenever (Y/N) seemed like she was even the slightest bit unhappy, Lauren popped up with the perfect comment to lighten the mood. I was honestly impressed at how well she knew (Y/N).

I glance up and notice it’s already ten. “How the heck did time pass that fast?”

They look over at the clock, also surprised. “Wow,” (Y/N) says. “It’s pretty late.”

“Yeah, I’d better go get ready for the stream,” I point out. “Want to join me this time?”

“Well, I don’t know...” She replies the same way every time. Geez.

“Come on, (Y/N),” Lauren says, giving her a playful nudge. “It’s supposed to be every Cry fan’s dream to be on the stream!”

I think for a moment. “So it’s your dream too, then?”

“One of them,” she admits. “But I’d rather watch (Y/N) on stream. That’d be awesome!”

“Well, what if you both joined me?” Lauren gasps, then shrieks like a crazy person.

(Y/N) snickers at her friend’s excitement, then nods. “Sure, it’ll be funny.”

I messaged everyone, asking if they minded me inviting a couple friends. All replies came back positive, so we go up to my place, since all my recording stuff is up there.

I pause before joining the Skype call and look over at them. “Should I use a nickname for you guys?”

“Sure!” Lauren says brightly. “Can I be Solaris?” We both look at her. “What? I always wished I’d been named Solaris.”
