Mad's POV
So, I have a plan. It will likely involve several deaths. If I can manage it, Virus will be among them. That's going to be hard, though. I have to get rid of this link. But whether or not I manage that, Relna's going to die. And if I can't dissolve the link, that means Elizabeth will die too. But it's a necessary casualty. It's not like she ever mattered anyway, aside from immediate strategy.
Cry's POV
After another few days of rest, the hospital let Lauren go home. We missed a week of class, but oh well. I'm honestly more worried about the Eater problem. If they can posess people on this side, we aren't safe anywhere.
And it really bothers me that they would hurt Lauren. She wouldn't hurt anyone, even if she could fight! Nobody would have even thought of hurting someone so nice... except Mad.
We're at my place again, playing games. (Y/N) is pretty much living here at this point, only going downstairs to sleep and get clothes. Lauren came too, but she still gets tired easily, so she's in my room, sleeping, and we have the volume on our laptops turned down.
Someone knocks on the door. I turn to (Y/N), surprised. "Who do you think that is?"
She shrugs. "No idea. Were you expecting someone?"
I shake my head and go to see who it is. I open the door a crack, then fully. "Pewds? Marzia? Why didn't you call?"
Pewdie grins, bouncing slightly. "Well, I wanted to surprise you! You two have been down lately, so we wanted to see if we could help!"
Marzia smirks. "The surprise was his idea. Just saying."
I shrug. "Well, we had a reason, but we're fine now. Anyway, come in, but keep it down, okay?"
"Why?" Pewds asks as I lead them to the living room.
(Y/N) looks up. "Hi, Marzia. Hi, Pewds. This is a surprise."
"Well, surprise!" Pewdie says loudly. Both me and (Y/N) shush him. He pouts a bit. "What? Why do I have to be quiet?"
"Lauren, my friend, is sleeping right now," (Y/N) explains. "She needs her rest, since she got hurt pretty badly about a week ago. She's mostly better, though."
Pewdie looks apologetic, Marzia sympathetic. "So that's why you guys were down," she says understandingly. "I'm glad she's doing better."
"On a happier note," Pewdie says, "May we congratulate you two?"
We must look confused, because Marza adds, "The stream last week. That got around pretty fast." Oh. We do a decent impression of a cooked lobster.
Pewds laughs a little. "Yeah, that's kind of how things went when we told everyone we were together. It was a little awkward for a bit, but you get used to it."
Marzia has a look of sudden enlightenment. "Wait, is your friend Lauren the other girl, Solaris?"
(Y/N) nods. "Well, yeah."
She smirks. "Well, Solaris now has a whole group of fans now."
I laugh. "She'll enjoy hearing that, I'd say. Nothing else, I'll bet she'll find it funny."
"In any case, since you're here," (Y/N) says, "Why don't we all play some games?"
That idea gets a great deal of enthusiasm, so we settle ourselves and prepare for battle. Apparently they'd expected this, since both Pewdie and Marzia have their laptops.
"All right, what're we doing first?" Pewdie asks.
???'s POV
I sit as still as I can, hugging my knees. I didn't want to know, I still don't want to know. I made myself forget, at least while I'm awake. So why did I have to remember?
