Louis' POV
"It's going to be okay. I'm sure he just thought he was doing what was best." Niall said whilst hugging Lanie. We were all just talking about the project when Lanie bursts in to tears. We then found out that Jake broke up with her... and it's been like this for the past few minutes. I don't want Lanie to think I'm a jerk of any kind, I actually want her to be able to rely on me when she is in need of a friend. I hug her as well, obviously shocking her a little bit.
"What are you doing?" she stopped sobbing long enough to say and look at me.
"I'm comforting you. Niall isn't magical, I can help too." she smiled a little, but began to cry again. I look over to Niall and mouth 'Maybe we should call Liam...' he shrugs and mouths back, 'I don't know.. maybe we shouldn't.' I nod and Lanie turns her head to look at me, she has stopped crying. She looks from me to Niall and laughs.
"I'm sorry.. I'm being weird. I'm fine." Niall and I let go slowly.
"Are you sure? It's okay to not be okay.." I said and she nods.
"I'm sure." she smiled at me.
"Are you positive?" Niall asked and she rolled her eyes a little.
"Yes, I am positive." she looked at him and smiled. "I cannot believe I just cried my eyes out in front of you two."
"Hey, we're good people to cry in front of! Right Louis?" Niall looked at me and I nodded and looked at Lanie.
"The best." she laughed a little and stood up.
"I'll be right back. Are you two thirsty or anything?" we both shook our heads and she nodded. She walked out of the room and Niall and I instantly made eye contact.
"Jake gave her a goodbye kiss and everything.. what is wrong with that man?" I said and Niall looked at me with a "really?" kind of look. "What?" I asked.
"Lanie cried that much just because Jake broke up with her, not only that, but he broke up with her in one of the nicest ways possible. Have you ever seen yourself break up with a girl? Or cheat on one?" I looked at him and sighed. He made me seem like a monster.
"Well, I don't want to do that... it's just... I don't know." I really like Lanie, but I don't want to hurt her like I do the other girls I date.. not saying that I was going to date Lanie.. psh, that is crazy! I just uh.. I've never had a girl friend. I mean I've had a girlfriend just not a friend that was a girl.. why am I talking to myself?
"Well don't be offended when Lanie doesn't trust you." I look at Niall again.
"What?"
"Lanie isn't going to want to have a player as a friend. I'm one of the nicest people in school and she barely likes me!" I sighed and so did he.
"Do you still like her?" I asked him and he nodded slowly and smiled.
"Yeah... didn't you use to have a crush on her? Back when we were younger?" I nodded, I've always had a small crush on her, especially when she was going through her rebel stage. It was hot. I mean she was a badass, but it did end and know she is petite and the cutest thing ever.
I cannot believe I just used the word cute.
"I kinda still do..." he glared at me a little and Lanie walked back in, smiling. We both smiled at her. She sat down and took a sip of the water she brought back with her.
"What is the project again?" she laughed a little.
"We have to pick a song, read it, and present what we think it means, what the message is, in front of the class. Oh an appropriate song." he looked at me and I rolled my eyes.
