Chapter Twenty-One - 21

"Lanie, that's two guys this week. Snap..." Darcy said to me as we walked to my locker.

"Look, Jake was cheating on me anyway." I said and she looked at me.

"Well, he was cheating with you."

"What?" I asked her.

"He was cheating on his girlfriend with you. So technically you weren't being cheated on, you were being cheated with."

"Well, okay." I said and opened my locker. I grabbed a few books and put them in my backpack.

"So, Josh and I are going to dinner Friday night... you wanna come?"

"And be a third wheel? Uh, no." I said and she rolled her eyes.

"With Louis, idiot." she said and I looked at her.

"Oh... uh, no." I said and she looks at me.

"You're kidding, right?" she said and I walked on.

"I'm not spending money to watch you make out with Josh." I said and she scoffed.

"There will be food, and refreshments!" she said and I walked away from her. "Lanie, why not? This could be practice for Saturday!"

"Saturday? Oh... yeah, Saturday." I said and looked at her. "Fine, but I'm not asking him to come."

"Oh, I know. Josh is, right now, over..." she paused and looked around the hallway. "there! That's Louis's locker." she said and pointed to Josh and Louis. Louis was obviously trying to ignore Josh, he was putting books in his backpack and then taking them out again.

"Why do I feel like Louis isn't paying attention?" I said and she sighed.

"Look, you're coming, Louis is coming, and you're going to like it! Both of you!" she said and we walked out of the school.

"Why did you wait until school was over to tell me this?" I asked her and she shrugged.

"So you couldn't say no? You're coming home with me." she said and I laughed.

"Liam has to take me to work, so no, I'm not." I said and she grabbed my arm.

"You quit work." she said and I looked at her.

"Darcy. You did not! I needed that job! What the hell am I going to tell my mother?" I yelled at her.

"Hey! Calm down! I got you a new job, a better job, and you'll be working with me! Your mum already knows." she said and I sighed. "Well, first you have to fill out a paper, but then you'll be good to go! Anyway, this job pays way better and you don't have to see Jake's face."

"Could you just tell me where I'm going to work?"

"Nope! That's a secret, now get in." she said and I shook my head.

"You're not driving. I'm not going to be in a car with you if you're driving." I said.

"This is my brothers car, he doesn't trust you to drive it."

"If he trusts you, he could trust a blind squirrel." I said and she gasped.

"I'm not that bad!" she said and I nodded.

"I'm driving." I said and grabbed the car keys out of her hand. "Now, get in the passengers seat." I said and she did as I told her. I got in a started the car.

"I'm not that bad." she said and I rolled my eyes. I drove out of the student parking lot and got into some traffic.

"I didn't tell Louis goodbye, and I didn't tell Liam I didn't need a ride, great." I said and she looked at me.

"Good lord, you'll be fine." she said and I smirked.

"You didn't say bye to Joshua." I said and her eyes widened.

"We have to go back!" she said and I kept driving.

"Dylan!" she yelled and I ignored her. "I hate you." she said and I rolled my eyes.

"So, where am I working?"

"It's a surprise, you little shit." she said and I laughed. I turned the radio on. "Don't mess with his radio." she said and I smiled.

"You're brother loves me." I said and she tried to pull my hand away. "I'm not going to do anything!"

"I don't trust you." she said and I laughed. I turned it off and got into some more traffic. "So, what happened this morning? Liam was too busy being zoned out to explain."

"I passed out... a couple of times and Louis and I got together." I said and she nodded.

"I can't believe you're with Louis. What happened to you hating him?" she asked me and I looked at her.

"I don't know." I said and she rolled her eyes. "I don't... it's just... Harry texted me about this thing... and I didn't believe it, but I should have and... I don't know, okay?" I tried to explain, but it didn't work very well.

"Whatever you say." she said and we finally got to her house. I turned the car off and got out of it. She followed me inside and when I got inside, Daniel was sitting on the couch. Daniel is Darcy's brother. I threw him the keys and he caught them.

"Did you drive my car?" he asked me and I nodded.

"Yeah, sure did." I said and walked to Darcy's room.

"Dylan Rose!" he yelled and I laughed.

"I told you!" Darcy said and threw a pillow at me. I dodged and it hit one of her picture frames, causing it to fall and break. "Nice one!"

"You threw it!" I said and picked up the picture. "Awh. It was a picture of us."

"You idiot!" she laughed and I smiled. I put the picture frame and the broken glass on her dresser and sat by her on her bed.

"Surprise time?" I asked her and she shook her head.

"Paperwork time." she said and handed me a folder. "I covered up the name of the place so you wouldn't see." she said and handed me a pen. I opened the folder and the print just made me excited.

"I hated that café." I said and hurried through the paperwork. After about twenty minutes of filling all this out, and Darcy talking to Josh on the phone about dinner, I was finished. "Done!"

"Good, because our first shift starts in twenty minutes. It's a long drive." she said and ran to her closet. "Put this on!" she said and threw me an outfit.

"Uh, why?"

"Because you can't wear that to work." she said and I rolled my eyes. I walked into her bathroom and quickly changed clothes.

"Okay, where are we working? Because this is an adorable outfit." I said and she smiled.

"You'll see!" she said and we walked outside of her room.

"You can't drive my car, Farley." Daniel shouted.

"Oh yeah, I won't!" I said and Darcy looked at me.

"You're driving aren't you?" she asked me and I nodded.

New job, here I come.

Heyyyyyy! SO LIKE I'M ACTUALLY NOT DEAD.

My laptop has been dead since the... 12th? I think.... so, uh, yeah.

Yay for Samsung laptops... woooo! You charge so well! -___-

But yeah, I'm in Florida and my laptop decided to charge. So, yeah.
