Me and Ron's mouths dropped open. Then it hit me, like a boulder. They took Charlene. They took my best friend into the chamber. How could they do this? Why would they do this?

Hearing this made me realise that I liked Charlene a bit more than a friend. I didn't have feelings, but I knew there was something there. She gives me hope.

"Mia knew something, Harry," said Ron. "And she probably told Charlene, and whoever's behind this probably knew that Charlene would tell us, then we would tell the school. Mia wasn't on about some stupid thing about Percy at all. Charlene's a pureblood, too."

I looked over at Ron, I felt a tear to my eye, and I noticed that Ron's eyes were stained with tears.

"Ron, it's okay," I comforted.

"No, Harry. It's not. One of our best friends has been taken by some horrible thing into a horrible place. What if she's dead?" He wailed.

I put my arm around Ron and tried to stay strong, but I don't think I could. I just let my tears fall, but then I found a small part of me telling me to be brave, that I could find some way to get through this.

"We have to be strong for her, that's what she would want. And Ron, I think we should go and see Lockhart. He's going to try and get into the chamber, at least we can tell him what we know." I suggested.

"Yeah, that's a good idea, but we have to be quick," Ron agreed.

So he and I sprinted up to Lockhart's office.

"Professor, we have some information for you!" I cried. But he appeared to be packing up his things. "Are you going somewhere?"

"Uh, yes. It's unavoidable!" He said quickly.

"But what about Charlene?" Snapped Ron.

"That is very, very unfortunate. Bright girl, liked her very much," Lockhart said quickly.

"But you're the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher! You can't go now! Not with all the dark stuff that's going on!" Ron snapped.

"Well, began Lockhart. "When I took the job, there was nothing in the job description about-"

"You're leaving? After all that stuff you did in your books?" I yelled.

"Books can be misleading!" Lockhart said.

"You wrote them!" I argued.

"My dear boy, do you use your common sense? My books wouldn't've sold half as well if people didn't think I'd done all those things!" He blurted out.

"You're a fraud! You've just been taking credit for what other people've done!" I yelled.

Lockhart looked quite frazzled.

"Is there anything you can actually do?" Asked Ron.

"Yes, now that you mention it," Lockhart began. "I'm pretty gifted with memory charms! Otherwise, you see all those wizards would've told everyone that I was a fraud! And I would never have sold another book. I'm going to have to do the same to you!" He said, getting out his wand.

But Ron and I were too quick, we pulled out our wands and aimed them at him.

"Don't even think about it," I said, and he lowered his wand.

"Alright, you win. What do you have to do to me so you won't tell anyone?" He asked.

"Nothing, you're a fraud and you should be exposed!" Ron yelled.

I agreed at first, but then I had another idea.

"Yes, you can do something," I began, with Ron giving me a look of confusion. "We think we know where The Chamber Of Secrets is and what's inside it. You're coming with us, and you can test the entrance first," I explained.
