"Congratulations," Ron said to Harry and I in the common room. "No one else got across the Age Line. Not even Fred and George. What did you use, the Invisibility Cloak?"
There was a silence and everyone was listening in.
"Come on Ron, we all know they didn't," Fred said, nudging Ron.
"The Invisibility Cloak wouldn't have worked," said Harry slowly.
"Oh right," said Ron. "I thought you might've told me if it was the cloak. Because it would've worked for the three of us, wouldn't it? But you found another way, didn't you?"
"Ron, we didn't put our names in, it had to have been someone else," I said adamantly. "If everyone else can see it, why can't you?"
Ron raised his eyebrows. "Why would someone do that?"
"I dunno," said Harry.
"It's okay. But you know, you can tell me the truth," Ron said. "If you don't want everyone else to know, fine, but I don't know why you're bothering to lie, you didn't get into trouble for it did you? That friend of the Fat Lady's, Violet, she's already told us all Dumbledore's letting you enter. A thousand Galleons prize money, eh? And you don't have to do end-of-year tests either."
"We didn't put our names in!" said Harry, raising his voice.
"Yeah, okay," said Ron. "I'm not stupid, you know."
"You're doing a really good impression of it," I snapped.
"Ron, what's with you?" Seamus asked.
Ron was fuming as he left to go back up to his dormitory.
"Don't worry about him, he'll come 'round," said Mia.
"How about that party we were talking about?" George asked.
"Yeah, let's go," I urged.
Mia, Hermione, Harry, Fred, George and I left the common room and headed for the kitchens.
"Just so you guys know, we believed you. Everyone believes you. Ron's just jealous," Hermione said. "Er, maybe jealous isn't the right word."
"What do you mean?" Harry asked.
"Think of it like this, he's friends with you two. You do have done some great stuff through the years. And his brothers, you guys know that he's always felt overshadowed by them," Hermione explained.
"That does make sense," I said, thinking of what he saw in the Mirror of Erised almost three years ago.
"Maybe one of us should talk to him?" Mia suggested.
"It should be you, Charlene," Fred said as we approached the kitchens. "You've been friends with him the longest. He'll listen to you."
"Maybe tomorrow, I think he needs space right now," I said.
"You're right," said Hermione.
Fred ordered the food we usually get and we headed back into the corridor.
"What do you kids have planned for tonight?" Filch asked slyly as he approached, Mrs Noris following him.
"We're just having a little fun to celebrate Halloween," said Fred, holding up the bag of food.
"It's our favourite holiday," I added with a nod.
Filch smirked.
"I see our two youngest champions are taking part in the festivities," Filch pointed out.
I nodded with a slight smile.
"So did you want something from us?" Mia asked, cutting to the chase.
