Harry, Ron, Hermione and I sat in the classroom along with other students, doing homework. Sounds of quills and pencils running along paper filled up the room, but I was completely distracted from my transfiguration worksheet.
The only thing we'd been able to think about the past couple of days was who had let Umbridge know about our group. We desperately wanted to know who the snitch was. It can't have been Draco, could it?
Luckily, the first quidditch practice of the year was tonight, and Harry and I were really looking forward to it. It felt like ages since I'd played quidditch since we didn't do it last year due to the tournament. Angelina is the new captain, so with Fred, George, Angelina, Katie and Alicia finishing this year, Harry and I will be the only ones on the team, so one of us will be made captain next year, my guess is Harry. After practise, we had a Dumbledore's Army meeting.
Umbridge had put up a decree saying that we needed her permission to practise any kind of physical activity, so Angelina got permission from her to practise Quidditch. We needed a signed form and everything. The first game of the year is Gryffindor vs Slytherin, who are our biggest threats when it comes to Quidditch.
"Are you guys done?" Hermione whispered to us.
I closed my textbook and got all of my things together. "I'm done, and I'm out of here," I said.
"When should we go see Hagrid?" Harry asked.
"Hagrid's back?" Ron question.
"He got back this morning," Harry said. "Did I not tell you? I swear I did."
"You did," Hermione confirmed. "Ron must have forgotten."
"Anyway, we'll go see him tonight after practise," Harry said.
We agreed and Hermione and I left and headed back up to the common room.
"We really should try and forget about this whole snitch thing, at least for now. The Christmas holidays are in a few days, and I think we all deserve a holiday," Hermione said.
"That we do," I agreed.
After lounging around the common room with Hermione for a while, I went up to the dormitory to get changed for quidditch. I put my quidditch robes on, tightened my ponytail, then went back downstairs where Harry was waiting for me.
I took Harry's hand and we headed to the Quidditch pitch.
"So what did you and Ronald do after Hermione and I left?" I asked.
"Funny story," Harry said, rolling his eyes.
I giggled in anticipation of the story.
"Ron and I finished our essays and when we were walking back, we got roped into helping Snape rearrange his storeroom," Harry said.
"Snape asked you to do that?" I asked with a small laugh.
"No, Snape stopped us in the hallway and gave us the whole discipline spiel, then he told us he had plans and he can't spend his day consulting us, then Umbridge walked past and asked what he had planned," Harry explained.
"Then?" I asked.
"Snape told her he was going to organise his storeroom, and Umbridge told us to go and help Snape. Snape wasn't at all thrilled to have us there," Harry said.
I laughed. "That's funny."
"It's not. Ron and I wasted our whole afternoon with Snape," Harry said.
"It's a little funny," I said, getting a small smile out of Harry.
When we reached the Quidditch pitch, everyone was already there.
