Chapter Six

New Years Eve the last day before a new dawn. it was early morning that we were changing nearly everything for the new year's party. i was hanging up signs and things. before i went to get ready. i slipped on my dress and went to mum's room.

"Mum could i borrow your lip gloss please"

"of course sweetheart. oh look at you Little Mia all grown up and so beautiful." i smiled at her as i applied the gloss. i turned round.

"oh hang on" i wiped a bit of stray gloss.

"perfect" she brought my hair to the front.

"like mother like daughter" i smiled and we left the room i went to the kitchen where she poured me a glass of bubbly.

"cheers" i went to go put my heels on while mum went downstairs. with the finishing touch i went back downstairs.

"you've seen the queen now take a look at the princess" i grinned coming out and posing

"ah my two girls gorgeous as ever." Dad kissed my temple and i joined mum.

"like mother like daughter" Mum said again. Shirley snorted.

"unlike you Mia can pull it off" Mum glared at her.

"...stay to the midnight bell tonight the ladies of Walford expect." Dad told Johnny.

"yeah they got me" i smiled at my Aunt

"not feeling ill are you sausage maybe I'll run you a bath" mum offered.

"be old to be a mummy's boy" Shirl commented

"childcare tips from you" she sneered

"i think Johnny pulled, guilt face who was it?" Tina asked  the doors opened and we looked to see Whitney come in she share a look with my twin before sitting down with her friends.

"eh eh Johnny Boy" i joked.

"shut up" i went to the end of the bar where i saw Peter. i haven't seen him since i was blind drunk.

"hey Peter what can i get you." i smiled he looked up.

"wow Mia you look... nice" he looked up and down on what i was wearing.

"wow Pete you know how to complement a girl" i teased. "so what will it be" 

"just a larger please" i nodded and grabbed a glass.

"no Lola tonight?" i questioned  he shook his head.

"nah she's spending it at home" he replied i handed him the glass

"and you're not. Well ain't i the lucky girl." he paid me and i put the money in the till.

"Johnny" i smiled holding out my glass he poured bubbly into it.

"thanks Johnny"  i took a sip.

"so any new year resolutions ?" i asked

"nah can't be bothered with them what about you?" he wondered

"no because i never keep them one year i said i was gonna say that it was the year to get myself a boyfriend. naaah." he laughed.

"so you haven't got yourself a boyfriend then."

"nope. i mean I've had a endless supply of crushes but they are either jerks, creeps, gay or taken. i have rotten luck on spotting the signs." i shrugged

"MiMi" i turned to look over at Tina.

"shots" i grinned

"well its new years eve Peter care to join" i look back to him.

"yeah why not" we walked over to Tina who had a lady friend with her. she lined up the shots and we began.

"Mia" Johnny called i turned to him and he pointed to a customer.

"ugh excuse me for a second." i headed over with a smiled.

"what will it be?" i asked

"larger please" i took a glass and filled it before he paid and left i put the money in the till and went back to drinking.

"eer Mum come join us" i went and dragged my mum over.

"now we're all a bit buzzed so you'll have to catch up." i poured the shots and counted.

"ugh we have people to serve you carry on" i shrugged soon Tina left with her friend lucky cow.

"ah so the time has come again where it's just me and you" i was really close.

"guess we are." he replied

"2 minutes till the countdown everybody!" Dad called i lean back.

"better make a run for it then wouldn't want you to miss your new year's kiss" i took a sip of my drink.

"she'll be asleep right now not one for staying up." he smirked

"such a shame those lips cold at the start of the new year."

"maybe they won't" he replied

"humm maybe let's see how fast you can get to the cellar. better run or you'll miss it" i left the easy way and went to the cellar i opened the door and stomped of footsteps approached before i saw the face of Peter Beale.

"10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...Happy new year" wear heard from the bar Peter kissed me hard and i responded back. he pushed me against the wall. i giggle before pulling away.

"i ain't no one's bit on the side" i backed away from him.

"Happy New Year Peter Beale" i blew him a kiss
