Chapter Twenty Six

it was the next day after Mum said i could have a call with Lee all to myself. when i heard something downstairs.

"Nancy! Nancy" i yelled/ whisper she grunted waking up.

"what? man" she whined

"do you hear that?" there was another noise we got up and i grabbed one of my stilettos what they are a killer special when you wear them which is why i only have one pair. Nancy had a bat of course and went to wake Johnny. there was another sound.

"what is it" Johnny asked. we shushed him

"there is someone downstairs" a clatter of bottles rang out and we went down but Johnny stopped us.

"why don't we get Dad?" he asked. i rolled my eyes and we continued

"Oi police on their way yeah" Nancy shouted we stopped and turned the lights on coming out ready. there was Tina, Dad and Shirley drinking . i sighed.

"let's get Dad" i teased Johnny

"go on my girls protecting the family" Dad took another sip of his drink

"someone's got to with a brother like him" i nodded back to Johnny

"no i like it, i like it" he held up his hand and we gave him a high five. i put my shoe down on the bar.

"bloody hell Mia how high are they Mia" Tina asked

"really high and i don't wear them a lot because they kill my feel but they are a good weapon." i answered.

"do you have any idea what time it is?" Johnny asked we all laughed

"go wake your mother up" Dad told my twin. Mum came in and it went all quiet she did not look happy.

"tell me you ain't spent all of it" Mum put her hand on her hip Dad chuckled and brought up a plastic bag checking it all on the bar. Nancy and I looked in it and took a hand full of money.

"woah"  I sighed

"right then upstairs for breakfast." i heard my tummy rumble and i legged it with my shoe upstairs into the kitchen and made the toast. Aunt Shirley went to the cooker.

"awh Shirl can you do some bacon and egg please." i asked

"yeah whatever" i buttered the toast and Mum came in to make everyone a bru.  i grabbed a couple of slices and sat at the table.

"i knew you'd get it" Mum said as Shirley gave me my plate and i thanked her before diggin in

"10 grand" Johnny mumbled

"it'll proper sort out the rising damp though" Nance commented

"and anything else we need" Johnny added

"Sharron won't know what's hit her" Mum grinned

"yes we shove it right in her face" i beamed. as i continued easting my breakfast.

"we won't need bouncers that's for sure" Dad smirked

"i thought Mum already was one" i added they laughed

"ah i told you your dad would get it" Mum mad the tea and gave some to us before drinking her own.

"no it was all down to Shirley" Dad replied i looked to Mum who was ready to do battle. oh no this is not gonna turn out good.

"like the whole dog pie thing. oh it was lamb by the way, we're not getting closed down thanks for asking" and she was off i decided to ignore the rest of the conversation we until i smelt a burp it was Tina.

"Johnny and Mia had to cover for ya" Mum went on.

"it's alright Mum really" i tried to stop her but she wouldn't have it.

"but thats not the point if she's on the rota, she's on the rota" Mum said

"oh Rota...cafe" Tina came out randomly.

"you just don't get to decide when to turn up " i finished and grab some toast as well as my cup and left. i dressed and got  ready going downstairs and opening the doors.

"Johnny, Nancy you coming or what" i shouted. the doors opened, let the day begin.

it was slow so i was sat with Johnny as i watch Mum put a pair of dog knickers on Lady Di. it was funny because it was Nancy's turn to walk her.

"no you're having a bubble" Nancy commented

"Nah i read it in a magazine gotta stop boy dogs from doing their ..." she trailed off before she leaned up.

"when you finish that you gonna take the rubbish out" Mum ordered she was really giving some for one shift. i missed loads of mine actually i had Dad or Nancy cover for me. Anyhoe

"one shift Linda, i missed one shift." Shirley chucked her cloth

"oh she looks so cute" Johnny cooed

"you take her then" Nancy tried to give him the lead

"in them?" he questioned then shook his head

"we can't breed if she'd already up the duff can we" she retorted, Nancy sighed and attached her lead taking her off.

Mum and Johnny were doing some polishing while me and Tina were sat at the bar.

"we should have a karaoke get my sequins on get everyone in to see the re-ferb" Mum suggested

"yeah Johnny could sing girls aloud" Tina joked

"Johnny I'll do your shift at lunch time i owe you one" Shirley added

"you don't have to" he replied

"a lunch time shift doesn't make up for a night shift" Mum commented

"well I'll do Mia's night one then won't i that's if you don't mind changing the rota" Shirley asked

"well that seems fair."

"now I've been thinking..." Shirley was cut of my Mum

"last time you did some thinking we nearly had dogs in pastry" she retorted

"Linda" Dad warned

"as i was saying I've been thinking, now you either give me my cash back"

"your cash?"

"well i was the one that got it" she told me and Tina "now either you give me my cash back OR...put my name above the door." oooooh. now i love my Mum but to be honest she had that coming. i hid my smile by looking down.
