Behind the Screen (Rosa x Curtis)

The Audition

It's about an hour of long waiting, the room emptying by the minute. Soon, it was only me, Fluffy, and another handful of people and Pokemon.

"Rosa could you please come to the stage. I repeat, Rosa to the stage." 

The voice rang through the loudspeaker, and pounding in my ears. Fluffy poked me, and gave me the 'you can do it' smile. I try to give one back, and manage to give a halfhearted one. I wobbled my way to the door, and slowly turned the door knob. As the door creaked open it revealed the back of the stage. I took a deep breath, as Fluffy and I walked onto the stage. I came to face a crowd of so many people, speaking in hushed voices. The three main judges were in the front seats, holding clipboards and pencils. My eyes came to meet with Yancy, who smiled. The man next to her took out a microphone.

"Hello Rosa, for this audition, I would like you and your Pokemon to act out a scene that will be in the movie. The stagehand will give you the script. You can start when your ready." 

I looked helplessly around for the stagehand, a little gothorita holding it, and took it from her. Fluffy had also gotten a copy from the gothorita, and we settled back in the middle of the stage. The paper read:

Brycen Man 

In an amusement park...

The room started to spin, and I couldn't read the rest of the script. Fluffy saw my hesitation, and tried to recover.

"Ampha Ampharos Amp!?" He says Oh no who is that figure in the distance!?

I knew that the next line was meant for me, but I was still frozen. I look out to the crowd. I can already imagine their laughter. It felt like exactly what happened...when... I can't do this. I threw the paper on the floor and ran off the stage. I sped through the waiting room, startling the few remaining people and Pokemon. I ran through the building, and all the way back to my caravan. I busted through the front door, not even being bothered to close it, and I flopped onto my bed in tears and giant breaths. Fluffy ran in behind me, huffing and puffing even harder.

"Ampharos!?" Fluffy yelled at me what happened!?

I shook my head.

"I couldn't do it Fluffy." I said, stuffing my pillow in my face.

"AMPHAROS!" Fluffy yelled it can't be that hard!

"Last time I messed up on stage, did you even know what happened?!" I yelled angrily. "When I had auditioned, I completely went blank. I couldn't remember a single line. I froze. People laughed at me. I became the forgetful crybaby. I was teased every day, all my friends left me. WHY DO YOU THINK MY ONLY FRIEND IS HUGO?!" 

Fluffy flinched. I sighed.

"Fluffy look, I'm sorry it's just..." I was stopped half way through.

"CUT!" Yelled a man holding a camera standing at the door.

My eyes widened and I froze. A beaming face popped up from behind him.

"Hi!" Waved Yancy.

I slowly waved back.

"Thank you for auditioning, we will get back to you soon!" Yancy said, holding up the peace sign. 

She walked off, the cameraman failing closely behind her. My brain couldn't process what exactly happened. I blinked hard. 

"What?" I looked at Fluffy.

Fluffy smiled.

"AMPHAROS! AMPHA AMPHA ROS ROS AMPHAROS!" Fluffy screeched happily she took that video as our audition! We were so good, we are in for sure!
