Get Me Out of This Mess

Laura and Carmilla have just started college. The two are invited to a welcome party that was being thrown by the Zeta Omega Mu bros and the Summer Society sisters . There was music, drinks, dancing, and most importantly; beer pong! So what happens when Laura starts playing the game and finds out she actually has horrible aim?

Laura has only been at this party for 20 minutes, and she's already managed to get herself both slightly buzzed, and invited into a game of beer pong. Which she honestly didn't even know existed until this party. Nevertheless, she was having fun. Even if the only shots that were getting in from her team was from her brand new best friend LaFontaine.

Pretty soon a crowd was around the table to watch the intense match between Laura and Laf versing Danny Lawrence and Betty Speisldorf. [A/N: Honesty hour, I have no idea how to spell her name...] The reason the game was intense? Laf and Danny were awesome at the game. Both Laura and Betty were absolutely horrible.

It was now Laura's turn, she gave the coin a quick peck and rubbed it in her hands for good luck. (No one could find ping pong balls, so they had to use coins.) she launched the coin, hearing it clank against the table and watch in anticipation for it to go into one of the cups on the other end of the table......

Then she heard a loud shout of "Frilly hell! Fuck, that hurt!" And realised that the coin didn't get anywhere near the cups filled with beer.

It had in fact hit a girl in the eye. And Laura let out a squeal as she ran to the woman's side.

"Are you okay? Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. Is your eye okay? Do you need water? A doctor?" Laura spat out all at once in a high pitched voice. But she was surprised when the raven haired girl let out a low grunt-that almost sounded like a growl- and attempted to push Laura away. "I'm fine! Jesus Christ, back off, will you? You hit me in the eye with coin, you stake me in the heart, fuck!" Even though in her right eye, Carmilla's vision was slightly blurry, she knew that would clear up in a few minutes. She was fine, and she knew it. She didn't need this annoying blondie bothering her immediately after said blonde just catapulted a coin into her eye.

"Are you sure? Can I get you anything? Please! I feel really bad!" Laura turned to face her teammate. "Laf, could you get someone to cover me for a while? I just want to make sure I haven't permanently damaged her eye.." Laura pleaded the red head, who raised their eyebrow but eventually nodded. "Sure Frosh, I'll convince Perry to play, she will be less likely to hit someone in the face." They snickered, taking Perry's hand from the crowd and dragging her to the table. Laura grinned. 'I ship it!' "Thanks Laf! Have fun!" With that, Laura dragged the very reluctant Carmilla up to her dorm, ignoring the protests coming from behind her.

"I told you that I'm fine, pipsqueak! What do you want from me?" Carmilla groaned, flopping onto the bed opposite Laura's, but not before stealing her yellow pillow. "I think you should rest and close your eyes....well, eye...for a bit. I hit you pretty hard. I'll get you some water, I'll be right back..." Laura paused, eyeing Carmilla up and down. "And that pillow better be back in the spot I had it in when I get back." With the that, Laura left the dorm for a couple of seconds to get some nice water from the dorm's kitchen instead of bathroom sink water.

Carmilla huffed, not moving from her spot. The girl did have a point, her eye was hurting like an absolute bitch and she should probably rest it.

So she did most of what she was told. She lay back, closed her eyes, and rested her injured eye......

She kept the yellow pillow.

Carmilla found that she was really good at staying angry when she wants to be, because her vision had cleared quite a lot on the way to Laura's dorm. And she couldn't deny that when she saw how the blonde looked when she wasn't a blob was incredible. Carmilla took one look and was reminded just how much of a lesbian she was, and she was entranced for a couple of seconds by a girl of which she didn't know the name, and only knew she existed because of the fact she had injured her.

Carmilla smirked a bit, she could shamelessly flirt with her to see if the blonde does have a little crush on her. The two did meet briefly during intiation, something of which she was very confused as to was why a university would have an initiation..... Anyway, the two had met before. The tiny human basically ran into her, and the two had an extremely brief conversation of "sorry!" "Eh, it's alright, I guess. You owe me a new book." "Sure, bye!" And she was quite certain that her interaction with the blonde tonight was not by chance. Somehow, the world is making them interact through Carmilla getting hurt by the adorable tiny over achiever.

Laura came back shortly after Carmilla finished off that thought. "Hey. So I've got the water! Is your eye feeling better?" Carmilla asked sincerely as she handed the cup of water to the now open eyed Carmilla. "Much better, thanks cutie." She winked, taking a sip of water and having to refrain from laughing at how Laura blushed at the nickname. "O-okay. Great! Glad to know I haven't made you blind in one eye." Laura chuckled nervously. "Yeah, so am I. It would be a lot harder to look at you if I was partially blind." Another sip of water to hide a snicker. The blush on Laura's cheeks deepening. "Uhh, yeah. Th-that's true....I guess... I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Laura. Laura Hollis. Journalism major and daughter of the most overprotective father in the universe." Laura grinned like a dork while Carmilla smirked. "Carmilla Karnstein. Philosophy major, daughter of the dean of students."  When Laura's mouth fell open from that last bit of information, Carmilla somehow turned paler than she already was.

Whenever somebody finds out she's the Dean's daughter, people either run, more use her to get advantages. She really hoped Laura wasn't like any of them.

And she wasn't.

"Oh my god, that must be awful! I've heard that the dean is a raging b-...bad person...." Carmilla chuckled at Laura stopping herself from cursing, but it was slightly humourless. "Yeah, well you heard right. She puts copious amounts of pressure in me to be perfect and the year hasn't even started yet. And if you don't do things her way....." Carmilla's voice trailed off, not wanting to dive into such a traumatising conversation right now. "Oh Carmilla, I'm sorry. I kind of know how it feels though. My dad has some very unrealistic expectations of me too, it gets pretty overwhelming sometimes." Carmilla looks Laura in the eyes and sees the sincerity in them, the care in them. A look she hasn't gotten since....before she can even remember.

"Thanks for dragging me here to rest up. It was really nice of you." Carmilla smiled shyly, something Carmilla doesn't do ever, and it even surprised her. But Laura just grinned and kissed her cheek. "No problem Carm. Come on, I'll take you to your dorm." Laura got up off the bed and extended her hand to Carmilla, which was taken with gratitude. "Actually cupcake, I don't have a dorm. I live with my mother off campus since all the dorms were full." Carmilla shrugged, but thanked Laura for the offer. "Actually, if I remember correctly, Betty is moving to Princeton soon. She got a full scholarship there and everything. Sooo, this dorm won't be full. You should let your mother know that little factoid." Laura poked Carmilla's arm for emphasis, causing the raven haired girl to chuckle.

"Thanks, I will. It'll feel amazing to get out of this mess of staying with that witch of a woman. Thank you Laura." Carmilla thanked Laura with a tone so filled with emotion, it almost made the tiny gay cry. "It's nothing. If you need anything else until that gets sorted out, call me." Laura insisted as she handed Carmilla her number. Who gave her a hug as thanks. In the spur of the moment type of action, Carmilla pulled away from the hug and then proceeded to give Laura a gentle, sweet kiss on the lips....which she pulled back from just as quickly as she started it. "Oh...oh god, I'm sorry. I don't know why I just did that, even though I won't lie, your lips are very soft and I wouldn't mind doing it again...." There was another thing Carmilla would normally never do; ramble nervously.

Laura giggled and gave Carmilla a hug. "It's fine Carm. I liked it a lot as well, but you pulled back before I could kiss back!" Laura chuckled at the end a little at the confused look Carmilla gave her. "Sooo, what I'm hearing is that in this new roommate situation, kissing you is going to come along with that?" Carmilla asked as smoothly as possible, which earned a giggle from Laura. "I wouldn't say I'm against it...." Laura smirked, waiting for Carmilla's response.

"This is going to be an absolute mess." Carmilla breathed, her confidence back in full force as she took Laura's face in her hands and kissed her again.
