Laura Hollis, our favourite sweet toothed cinnamon roll, is browsing the baked goods aisle when she finds a pack of cookies at the most unreasonable price she's ever seen. In her rage at the overpriced snack, she finds the nearest cashier to complain and get it made cheaper.
"Ten dollars!" Laura shrieked as she observed the price sticker for her favourite chocolate chip cookies. She scoffed, even if they are the best cookies ever in her opinion $10 was ridiculously overpriced. Laura chucked the biscuits into the basket and began to march off to the nearest checkout.
Luckily for Laura, the nearest checkout didn't have a line.
A bored looking, raven haired, beautiful pale woman stood at her register in wait for her next customer. So Laura straightened her posture, took a deep breath and stomped over to her.
"Hey." The checkout girl greeted Laura unenthusiastically. Loading her basket onto the conveyer-belt, she kept the cookies in her hand to complain.
"Uh, excuse me who the hell are you?" Laura asked with a slight stutter at first, but quickly trying to cover it up with a frustrated attitude. The woman raised her eyebrow, irritation crossing her features at the rude way Laura was speaking to her. "Carmilla. I have a name tag sweetheart." She stated in a smart-ass tone. Laura bunched up her face in anger and annoyance at Carmilla's tone, something of which made Carmilla smirk in response. "That bunched up little face you make when you're angry is hilarious, buttercup."
Laura didn't even react to the comment, though it did take her a lot of willpower to not roll her eyes. "Look, I don't have time for you being the cashier from hell right now. I'm only here because I'm trying to get this pack of chocolate chip cookies but it's ten dollars! It's a twelve pack of cookies, how is it worth ten dollars!" Laura shouted as she waved her hands (and the packet of cookies) in her angry rant.
Usually Carmilla wouldn't care about someone complaining about the price of an item, but that was because people were also usually quite polite about it, or voiced their frustrations respectfully. But this blonde. This blonde that is ridiculously cute when she's angry, is yelling at her, disrespecting her and being unreasonable. "What the frilly hell is this. Pardon me you prissy blondie, but you can't just drag yourself over here and yell at me for something that isn't my control. I'm a fucking checkout chick, not a sales consultant or some shit. You want your cookies for a cheaper price? Go to the service desk and ask to speak for the fucking manager. But knowing her, you won't get much. Only thing she cares about is getting money. So if you want the cookies so damn bad, then pay the ten dollars!" Carmilla growled right back. Customers had either begun to leave as quickly as possible, or stand to stare and watch. Neither of the women even thought to be bothered by this as they stared at each other with intense anger.
Neither one of them moved away from the stare.
Carmilla trying her hardest to not pay attention to how adorable Laura is.
Laura trying to ignore how freaking sexy Carmilla is and how that thought makes her hormones go crazy with how gay she is for a woman that she should just be angry at.
"Well. Maybe in your world ripping people off like this is okay, but in my world, I'm a realist who realises when something is unrealistically immoral." Laura retorted as calmly as she could while internally seething at the same time as the sexual tension rises in her body. Carmilla rolls her eyes. "A, a "realist"? Really?" Carmilla says incredulously while putting air quotes around 'realist'. "Well it's better than being a-" "You're just lying to yourself about that! A what?" Carmilla cuts over Laura before she could start her list. "Smug." Laura begins. "Hypocritical." Carmilla continues.
And so it begins.
"Superior." "Delusional." "Condescending." "Tightly-wound." "Narcissistic." "Prissy." At this point the two women have gotten much closer together and Laura has brought her hands quite close to Carmilla's face. "Uncaring." "Nerdy." "Nihilistic little..." "Little moral hero you wish you were." "Incompetent..."
And that's when all the name calling stopped. That's when both girls grabbed onto each others faces and pulled their lips together. They met in a rough and passionate kiss, filled with anger and lust. One of Carmilla's hands tangled itself into Laura's hair as the other settled onto the blonde's waist. While both of Laura's hands gripped and tugged at Carmilla's waist and hips as much as she could over the counter. They both breathed deeply through their noses as tongues slipped through parted lips in a lust filled roughness. But, the two eventually slowed. Laura's hands fell to her sides as Carmilla's rough grip on her hair loosened. The two pulled their lips apart, looking each other in the eyes with gazes now completely devoid of anger. They were now filled with understanding, regret, and a hint of love.
Laura leaned in and put their foreheads together. Carmilla gently pushed strands of Laura's hair behind her ear. Their lips met again, this time more gentle and prolonged. They continue like this for a couple more seconds before Laura's phone rings.
Laura pulls away completely with a confused look on her face, and answers her phone after seeing the contact name was Betty, her soon to be ex-roommate.
Carmilla bites the corner of her lip and smiles a bit. She takes the pack of cookies that was dropped onto the conveyer-belt during the intense make out session and scans it through. Choosing a split payment and taking $10 out of her wallet, she pays for the cookies and then leaves the rest of the groceries to be payed by the blonde.
When Laura returned she had completely forgotten about the cookies and payed for the rest of the food. She mumbled an apology for her rudeness and thanked Carmilla for her service.
Carmilla quickly scribbled her number onto the blonde's receipt and shoves it into the bag. "Have a nice day, creampuff." Carmilla smirks as Laura blushes and walks away.
It takes Laura getting back to her dorm to find the pack of cookies and the receipt with Carmilla's number scrawled onto it with a message.
"Call me cutie ;) ~ Cashier from hell"
