It's Carmilla and Laura's 2 year anniversary, and Laura wants to do something fun. While the romantic gestures from her girlfriend were always appreciated, Laura is known for wanting to mix things up sometimes.
Carmilla wakes up partially with a grumble. The weight of Laura sitting on her legs, accompanied with her poking the spot on her back that was exposed to her girlfriend from her black tank top riding up, was enough to at least bring her out of unconsciousness.
"Ugghhhhmm, no Cutie. The sun is up, which means I am not." The half asleep vampire mumbles into her pillow, trying to ignore the constant poking.
Laura wiggled in place as she whined. "Caaaarrrm! You need to get up! You now what day it is, right?" The blonde continued to poke her girlfriend.
Carmilla let out a deep sigh into her pillow. "Yes Laura, I know what day it is. Our 2 year anniversary. I've got something planned for later, now let me go back to sleep." The raven haired woman groaned, lazily waving her hand behind her before trying to relax again. It didn't matter to her that resistance was futile, she wasn't a morning person and that wasn't going to change.
Even if it was her anniversary.
Laura huffed in disappointment at her tactics not working. She squinted and bunched up her face with the tip of her tongue poking out of her mouth. Anyone who knew Laura well enough would be able to identify that as her thinking face.
When the blonde came up with an idea she smiled mischievously. Laura shifted backwards on Carmilla's legs and leaned down, using one hand to draw light circles into her girlfriend's waist and using the other to support her descent. Once the entire front half of her body was piled onto Carmilla's back, she settled her weight onto one elbow and used her free hand to push Carmilla's hair to one side. With a few feather light kissed along the back of her neck, the broody vampy let out a large sigh of contentment and gave in to Laura's antics.
"Alright, alright, love you can stop. I'm getting up." Carmilla chuckled, causing Laura to squeal in delight and remove herself from her girlfriend. "Yaaayyy!! Hurry up Carm! I made breakfast for us! It's got waffles and pancakes and bacon and eggs and hash browns and I bought ice ream and whipped cream and maple syrup and sprinkles, oh! And when I went to the store I saw that they had a bunch of blood oranges and I thought it would be funny to buy some and make some fresh blood orange juice. Get it? Because you're a vampire and they're called blood--" Laura was cut off with Carmilla gently pressing her lips against hers. She grinned into the kiss, therefor ruining it, and Carmilla pulled away. "Cupcake. There is a thing called breathing. As a human it is something you need to do. Pause the motormouth for a second and just breathe deeply for me, okay?" Carmilla smiled amusedly at Laura's red face and rapid chest movement, the fact that she was still able to make her girlfriend flustered made her incredibly smug.
"Right, breathing. Th-that's a good idea." Laura stammered as she caught her breath. Rambling really did take a lot out of her. She took as many long, deep breaths as she needed and smiled sheepishly. "Sooo, breakfast?" She exclaimed, quickly jumping off the bed to make her way to the food waiting downstairs.
Carmilla watched her overly excited girlfriend practically hop down the stairs with an amused adoration in her eyes. 'Two years has done nothing to her enthusiasm...'
-----------------------------
It was when the two were cleaning the dishes together when Laura proclaimed that they had to be ready to leave the house very soon.
Carmilla paused her scrubbing to look at Laura with a raised eyebrow. "And what exactly have you got planned for us that we need to be out of the house for 'very soon'?" She asked suspiciously, her action of putting air quotes at the end of her sentence caused soap suds to fling onto the floor.
Laura grinned and rocked on her feet. "It's a surprise Carm." Laura stated smugly as she winked before running to get changed out of her pyjamas.
Carmilla shrugged to herself before finishing the dishes with vampire speed. 'What are you up to cupcake?'
----------------------
"No." Carmilla dismissed the idea as soon as they stood outside the building.
"Caaarrrm! Come on! It'll be fun! Besides, you can't deny the fact that there have been more than enough times that you wanted to shoot me with lasers." Laura whined to her girlfriend, her puppy eyes appearing at almost full force.
Carmilla sighed. She really couldn't deny that. "Laura, it's our anniversary. Laser tagging isn't romantic." She tried to reason with the blonde. She had never been laser tagging before and she wasn't planning on going anytime soon.
"But we'll have fun together. And you have some type of ridiculously romantic thing set up for the evening that is bound to make up for this anyway. Pleeeaaassse?" Laura began pouting.
That damn pout that Carmilla would kiss right off of her face if they weren't standing at the entrance of an arcade with many people probably getting annoyed at them arguing in front of the place.
"Ugh, fine! Just this once!" Carmlla gave in. But if she was going to do this, she was going to make sure she won.
"Yay!!" Laura squealed, hugging Carmilla and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Love you. Now let's go!" The blonde gripped Carmilla's hand and begun dragging her inside.
'What am I getting myself into?'
-------------------------------
"Fuck." Carmilla muttered to herself as she hid in a corner. The fact that she had never been laser tagging before really put her at a disadvantage. She had shot Laura a few times but she was sure that the blonde was winning by a lot.
She needed a plan, and fast. She didn't know how much time she had left in this match and she had no idea when Laura would pop up.
'Think you stupid vampire, think!'
"Caarrrm?" Came the taunting call of her girlfriend. She was close.
Thankfully her voice did somehow help Carmilla come up with a plan.
A smirk crawled up Carmilla's lips as she sped over to her girlfriend, catching her by surprise.
Before the blonde had a chance to shoot her she crashed their lips together, making Laura let out a surprised gasp at the sudden action. Soon her eyes closed and she relaxed, her hand losing grip on her gun until she let it fall, her hands now threading through Carmilla's hair instead.
Carmilla smirked into the kiss as she raised her own gun, aiming at straight for Laura's chest as she pulled the trigger.
The laser sound effect and Laura's vest making the noises that indicated she had been shot was the cue Carmilla took as to run away.
Laura stood there shocked as she watched Carmilla run away laughing. She was frustrated at herself for allowing herself to get distracted so easily, but slowly let a grin crawl onto her lips at a realisation kicking in.
Carmilla was having fun playing laser tag.
-------------------------
In the end, Laura ended up winning, it was close though with Laura only winning by 50 points. Carmilla really got the hang of it after a while.
"Well, I do have to admit that I had fun. Thank you." Carmilla intertwined her fingers with Laura's, giving her a lopsided smile as they walked back to the car. Laura responded with a wide grin. "I'm glad you had fun." She replied before planting a kiss on her cheek. "Happy anniversary Carm."
------------------------
Later that night when Carmilla got down on one knee and asked Laura to marry her, the blonde had to admit that Carmilla's plan was a lot better than her's.
