"Alright, do we have everything ready?" Rex asked.
"I believe so. I guess it wouldn't hurt to make a checklist... let's see, food, check; medicine, check; the prophetic scroll?"
"Yes." Rex said.
"Money, and the sword." Rin said as tapped the handle. As they walked towards the corridor leading out to the open world, they heard a small, distant noise. Probably some pebbles falling or something. Rin thought to himself. There was another sound, and another. Then there was a sound of metal hitting rock. They were footsteps. Rex stopped, making a shh noise that sounded more like a hiss, "What is that?"
"I have no idea." Rin whispered, "Maybe someone is outside?"
"I don't really want you to, but why don't you go check. You won't make as much noise as me."
"Alright, I'll go." he said, starting for the corridor. He walked through the rocky crevice, peeked his head around the corner and saw something. He couldn't tell exactly what it was because the entrance to the cave was so far away and it was almost dark. A lot of time must have passed while I was making that armor. Is that a wagon? I thought Rex said only I could through the barrier. He went back into the cave by Rex.
"I think I saw a wagon out there. Something was moving too." Rin whispered.
"This is bad. The humans have found a way through the barrier. We must move quickly, If they find us it could be dangerous."
"Where are we going to go? That's the only entrance, right?" Rin asked, looking for another way out.
"We may just have to sneak past them somehow."
"You can't! You make too much noise. Maybe I can distract them somehow. If they know about you already, maybe they're wearing armor like me and I'll fit in with them."
"You can try, but if you need help just shout. I'll be waiting here." Rex whispered.
"Alright, I'll try to be careful." Rin assured as he went back out into the corridor. He slowly walked past where he stood the last time. I have to be careful now. I can't let them see me until I get into the group, good thing it's still dark out. He walked further out into the night, towards the group of armored soldiers.
"Is it in here?" One man asked.
"Yes, according to the directions I was given." Another man replied.
"Why don't we just head in? It can't be that hard to kill." They were wearing similar looking armor. Good I should fit in just fine. Rin thought to himself. By now, he was already squatting next to the small wagon. It was full of metal, swords, and broken whiskey bottles.
"I don't think we should go in just yet." All of the men turned towards him. He was trying to make his voice sound deeper to match theirs.
"Why not? We have these swords. Hell, we even got us a gun. We can kill it without any problems." One of the men said with a half-drunken confidence.
"I don't think you know how strong these dragons are. They could kill you in an instant, rip you apart with their razor sharp teeth. Burn you alive with their raging fire." he was trying to sound intimidating. It didn't really seem to work.
"Are you trying to scare us or something? You know, we have killed these things before. How long have you been in this unit, kid?"
