"Finished!" Aya exclaimed.
Rin looked up to see her exhausted face as she set the worn pencil down. The paper looked like a jumbled mess from the position he was in, but as he got up he could see that it was a proper map.
The two dragons also skulked over, not standing up completely before laying back down.
The map was drawn from a slightly slanted top view of a mile around them. She pointed to rectangular building to the back of the one they were currently in. There was a large parking lot to the front of building and the dam was further behind it. "This is where Kuvera is hiding. This building isn't nearly large enough to accommodate an army and, unfortunately, I cannot see underground.
"Towards the back, here—" she slid her finger over, "—is the dam. This small house is what we'll use to get in. There seems to be a passageway inside which should lead us to whatever is under the water."
Rin walked over the one of the garage doors and lifted the bottom enough to see outside. As he thought, it was pitch black out. "We can leave now if everyone is ready," he looked at them in question.
Rex and Raven looked at each other for a moment, "We have both been ready since we arrived here. We can leave whenever we feel is right."
"I need to take this map with me," Aya said as she rolled up the large paper, "We may need it in the future. Other than that, I'm ready."
Rin grabbed his sword and clipped it to his belt. He felt drained from putting so much of his energy into his sword but he knew he could pull energy back out if he needed too. He then put his helmet back on and made sure that all of his armor was still tight.
Aya did similar, putting on a small crown-like top that hung around her ears comfortably. Her sword was thinner than Rin's and had a circular cross guard. Rin was distracted for a moment by the shape of its hilt. The butt had a very intricate design that looked like small thorns on four evenly spaced vines.
He brought himself back and slowly opened the garage door. Thankfully, it didn't make very much noise and he was able to open it completely without incident. Raven was the first one out, followed by Rex and finally, Aya, who shut the door silently with ease.
They walked silently on the rocks, trying to stay on the grassier areas as much as possible. Rin's head suddenly felt heavy and a sharp pain struck him a few times. Quickly realizing that someone was trying to talk to him, he opened his mind enough to see who it was—Frozif.
Rin, and everyone. You are very near the barrier now. Kuvera will know the instant you step through it and will send men to capture you all. I have summoned the other fourteen mages so that we may combine our powers in an effort to keep Kuvera and his men underground. I cannot say for how long it will last, but you must hurry.
With that the controlled pain left his mind and he was free to walk about again. They were at the edge of the barrier now. It had an interesting effect to it. It was a very faint, blue glow that almost resembled an aurora. Normal humans weren't able to see it, of course. It extended at least a hundred feet into the air and curved over to the other side which made a dome-like shape.
"Are you ready?" Rin looked behind him and asked.
They all nodded back in approval.
Rin touched the barrier at first, just to see what it would do—nothing happened. It was as if the blue glow wasn't actually there, just simply an illusion. He stuck more of his arm in and finally his whole body, still having no effects on the glow.
