Chapter 5 - Memories

Luna wakes up on her wooden bed, it isn't as comfortable as her bed at home but it's still nice.

Luna gets up and exits her oak room, she sees Max and Lucy already prepared for the journey they are about to take.

The three friends then leave the rotting city of flesh and bone, they all look out to the plains with the red grass that the green sky makes darker, the common black roses are scattered across the flat plains.

Luna takes the first step and then her two friends follow in her path, they travel for three hours until they suddenly see a wagon being attacked by goblins.

The goblins are normally three foot in height, have green skin and wear brown tunic clothing.

Luna prepares her scythe which she summons out of her hand, Lucy and Max just watch as Luna quickly dashes through the mischievous group with lightning speed only leaving a blur of black and white.

She jumps and slashes around in a circle with graceful movement as if she were dancing, the goblins one by one got banished, looking as if they were evaporated by Luna's scythe.

Max and Lucy couldn't take their eyes from this magnificent sight, that was until it was over.

Luna was panting from the amount of movement she was doing, she looks around for any survivors of the goblin's raid.

That was when a young man in his early 20's comes out of the wagon, he is a man with white clothes and a blue stripes run across it. He has a pair of brown cat ears which match the colour of his hair and cat-like eyes.

The man smiles and says in a cute voice "Thank meow for saving me nya~."

Luna's face lights up and says in a high pitch squeal "Oh my Gods, he is so cute~."

Luna runs up to the cat man and starts to stroke his hair while giggling to herself, the cat man doesn't seem to mind.

Lucy just stares with a blank face and Max tries too but he just stares, that's when Max decides to approach the now giggling Luna and the happy faced cat man with a serious walk.

Max asks in a formal tone "Who're you?"

The cat man looks up at Max with big eyes and says "I'm Pip! Meoice to meet you."

Maxilla's serious atmosphere is suddenly shattered when he does the same thing as Luna and starts petting Pip while saying "How are you this cute~."

Maxilla's eyes change to pink.

Lucy looks at the sight before her and decides to take charge, she approaches the group and pulls off Max and Luna with the strength of a zombie maid who's angry.

Max and Luna get back their senses and Pip prepares to leave saying a final "Goodnya."

Luna, Lucy and Max also prepare to carry on with their quest.
The three travel for another few hours then finally reach the blood river, the sky was getting dark and the two twin magenta moons are rising.

Luna says in a tired tone "We should camp here for the night."

She gestures to the rocks that had fallen down the mountain creating a miniature cave, as if the mountains themselves have given it to them.

They set up camp and Lucy uses a flint from her too well prepared bag to light a fire, the fire is orange which reflects from the red river making a mixture of red and orange ripple effects.

Max and Lucy sit by the fire, Luna is sharping her scythe with a rock even though the blade is perfect.

The hetrochromia eyes of Luna glisten when she looks at the moons, the sky is now almost black with still a hint of green and the moons are still magenta but a green coating surrounds the moons.

Max looks towards Luna and asks in a quiet tired voice "Why do you like the moons so much? I thought you hated nighttime."

Luna's eyes still fixated on the moons says in a calm tone "I hated the night but I love the moons, when I was seven my dad took me out one night to a hill."

Luna eyes change and now she is no longer looking at the moon but instead, her memories "He showed me the two moons and the purple sky. Dad told me about how the moons were actually two gods who are forever lovers, but because of time they could never see, or touch each other no matter how long they waited."

Lucy drowsy from her tiredness looks over to Luna as she continues to speak "I cried when I heard that story but Dad just carried me back home as I cried on his black robe telling me that I am too kind."

Luna gives a look of sadness but she shakes it away and smiles to Max and the asleep on Max's shoulder girl.

Max looks at Luna and says "You know that your father cared for you, even more than his own existence."

Max looks at Lucy as she is laying on his shoulder asleep "After all there is someone who I care about like that."

Luna makes the connection instantly and smiles brightly while saying "Oh my Gods, you like Lucy?"

Max's eyes change pink while he nods. Luna looks at Lucy and Max and says in a serious tone "You deserve her, I hope it goes well."

Max asks Luna "So who do you like?"

Luna flinches at the question but she responds by saying in a leader's tone "I am Death, so have no need for romance."

Max responds by saying "Good answer."

Luna changes the subject by saying "Max, remember when we were kids and we used to get in fights all the time?"

Max answers with the simple "Yeah?"

Luna carries on "Well I just wanted to ask, but how did you grow? You're a skeleton."

Maxilla answers with a tone of pride "Death built me and gave me a soul with a childs mind just for you, but as you grew Death gave me more adult bones."

Luna comes to the realisation that she is older than Max!

Max lays Lucy down on her bed while she dribbles in her sleep, he then lays on his bed and his eyes become black holes for sleep.

Luna stays awake keeping watch just in case the goblins decide for revenge.
