Max and Lucy watched as Luna runs across the red field towards the black menacing door, the faraway princess then dissappears into the white light that the door emitted.
Max and Lucy look at each other, Lucy says in a playful tone "So, what do we do?"
Max shrugs and replies in an equally playful tone "Lunch!"
Lucy nods and walks with Maxilla to the canteen building, where all the lively skeletal knights are grouped.
Lucy opens a dark brown wooden crate which had been piled in the corner of the room, it had devil seeds inside if it.
The devil seed is a yellow oval shaped food which is grown in Lovic's massive royal garden in the center of the city, it is said to be able to restore any physical or mental damage in a single bite.
Lucy looks at the seed with a sad face, she then turns to Max who is staring at her sad face and shouts in a childish tone "Why is this the only food here!?"
Max's eyes light blue and he replies "This is an invasion, not a king rated hotel. These seeds are healing items, skeleton's don't need food for energy."
Lucy pouts out her cheeks and says in a down tone "Sorry... but I'm hungry."
Max does a skeletal sigh and starts to pat Lucy's head with his gentle white battle scared hands, Lucy closes her eyes and smiles at the sensation of her skeleton knights hand.
The two friends stay like this for a while without any interruption.
An hour passes and Lucy finally got to eat a piece of bread which Max got from a passing caravan, with a smile on Lucy's face she pokes Maxilla's hard, bold head.
The two are in a stone room by the barracks, Lucy's laying on a bed while Max sits on the bottom edge cleaning his weapon with a cloth from Lucy's bag.
(Seriously!? How many things does she have in that bag!?)
Max looks at the mischievous maid and shouts in a tone of annoyance "Why are you poking me!?"
She replies in a bored tone, still poking Maxilla's head "Because I'm bored, and your head has a nice feeling which helps."
Maxilla lets out another sigh through his.... where ever the skeleton talks through, that's when suddenly Lucy stops the poking and instead lets out a terrifying cry of pain.
The surprise and scared skeleton turns to Lucy in a flash to see what's wrong, Lucy's holding her head tightly while rocking back and forth.
Max can see 'it', Lucy's soul.
The physical body of Lucy is still rolling while she grasps her head even tighter than before, but a spiritual appearance of Lucy is being ripped out of the her.
Maxilla is in shock, he doesn't know what to do!
The knight holds onto Lucy and starts to say in a sad voice, his eyes turning grey "Lucy! Speak to me, what's happening? Tell me!"
Lucy begins to calm down, her soul begins to fade back into her physical appearance.
She looks at Max with tears welling up in her eyes, and says in a sad but somewhat happy voice "He's dead, he's actually dead.... how?"
Max gives her a look of surprise and asks in an equally curious tone "Who? What was that just now? I s-saw your soul leave your body."
Lucy's tears disperse and all that's left is a huge smile with a hint of sadness, she then says "The man that made me this is dead Max... I think Luna did this but.... nevermind."
Max looks at the happy maid in silence, he doesn't know what to say.
Should he praise Lucy?
Should he feel sad for her?Lucy hugs Max tightly and says in a motherly tone "It's okay. It's alot to take in, even for me. Thank you Max for being here."
Max accepts the hug and holds her close to his non-existing heart, the stone-walled room is silent, only the death ravens can be heard outside and the twin magenta moons glistening through the barred windows.
The silence is broken by Lucy when she says "I love you Max, I love you so much."
The words echo in Maxilla's head over and over, he tries to comprehend the sentence he just heard.
He answers the only way possible to him "I love you too, Lucy."
Lucy is taken back by his answer, she asks in a frail happy tone "Does this mean we're lovers?"
Max still holding Lucy tightly responds with a simple "Yep" in a childish tone.
Lucy chuckles and so does Max, the dead silent room is now filled with happiness and laughter.
