The whole night Eli seemed pretty oblivious to how close Colton and I had been. He was way too busy with Isabella. I couldn’t pull her away from him for one second. Her tan hand stayed hooked around his bicep, or held firmly in Eli'l strong hand. It was kind of cute, though.

When we got to the boardwalk, we decided to go and get something to eat. We decided to go to  Genger’s. Before we went inside, Isabella squealed and said she just had to go to the little shop down the walk. Eli and Colton offered to get us a seat and we said we’d be quick.

As we got close I realized the clothing shop and the skate shop were right next door to each other. I prayed Levi wouldn’t be there, but just as we were passing he walked out with his followers.

He stopped short. “What are you doing here?” He sneered at me.

“Oh hey Levi. I’m down for a visit.” I replied simply, ignoring his annoyed tone.

“Oh cool.” Then he had seen her. I saw him turn his charm all the way up. He flashed his pearly whites at Isabella and winked at her. She giggled. “Who’s your little friend, Av?”

“This is Isabella. Isabella, this is Levi and his followers.” I put followers in air quotations.

“They are my friends," He rolled his eyes. "but it’s nice to meet you, Isabella.”

“Come on, Is. They are waiting for us.” I grabbed her arm and lead her away, she was looking back the whole time.

“See you later, Isabella!” Levi yelled.

"Of course!" She yelled back.

We walked quickly. I was pretty mad. She promised she wouldn't go and talk to stupid Levi Locks. She knew how mad I was, so she didn’t say a single word.

When we entered the resturant, I noticed that Eli and Colton were seated at a secluded table in the back. They were the only ones around and each sat on one side of the table. I smiled and made my way towards them.

“Hey, sorry it took so long.” I said, sliding in next to Colton.

“It’s OK.” He said.

After lunch, I suggested we head home for a while, since my dad would be home any minute and he was probably expecting to see me when he got there. As we walked up the walk to my house, we said goodbye to the boys and went inside.

“Avery! How are you doing?” Amy greeted me. “Hello.” She said to Isabella.

“Hey Amy. I’m doing perfect. It’s great to see you. Uh, this is my friend Isabella.”

“Hey.” Isabella waved.

“Well your dad should be home soon, so why don’t you girls go and get settled in?” She said, wiping some flour off her forehead and handing Cammie a cup.

I led Isabella up the stairs and down the hallway to the room that was fixed to be just mine. I stayed a good five feet in front of her, pretty much ignoring her exsitance.

“Would you tell me what is wrong with you?” She demanded, closing the door behind her.

“Nothing. I promise. I just want some alone time with Colton, that’s it.” I lied.

“Call him. You guys could sneak out tonight and go to the beach.”

“What about the project?” I asked.

“We have two other days to do it. Go have fun with your boyfriend.” She smiled.

Gosh, even though I was so pissed at her, I loved her. She really did know how to make someone feel a little better.

“Thanks! You’re the best friend ever!”

So I grabbed my cell phone and quickly pressed speed dial 5. Colton answered on the second ring and sound just as happy as I did when I told him to meet me at Far Beach around 10 O'Clock. He said he'd seeme soon and hung up.

Colton’s POV

I honestly couldn’t believe she was here, with me, at this very second. She meant more to me then anything. It was crazy how a single summer could change your life forever. I never knew that I’d meet this amazing girl and fall completely in love with her. She is absolutely amazing in every way.

We lay across a blanket out on Far Beach. This place had become somewhere Avery and I had come often. We spend most of our time together here. It was kind of like ours. No one really came to this beach. Everyone perferred the Drop more.

“I’m glad you came to visit.” I said to her.

“Me, too.” She leaned her head in my chest.

We didn’t say much after that. We just lay there, enjoying each other’s company. I soon heard foot steps. Who could that be? I wondered.

Avery and I both looked back and she walked up. Shit.

“Eli told me you were here.” Shay said.

I’m in for it now.

“Who is that?” Avery asked me.

Who am I? Who the hell are you?” Shay sneered at Avery.

“I’m Avery. Colton’s girlfriend.”

Shay nearly fell over laughing.  “I’m Shay, Colton’s girlfriend.”

Avery jumped up and walked away from me. She didn’t leave, she just looked from Shay to me and back. I could see tears building up in her green eyes.

“How…how long?” Avery stammered out.

“Seven months. I’ve been gone for three months in Italy for a modeling thing. Then I come back and look what he has done. Found himself another girl to keep him company. How many of these do you have running around here, Colt?” She laughed again.

Gosh, she was hot and strong. So in control. But dang, I really screwed things up with Avery now. She is never going to want to come back to Baker. She's never going to want anything to do with me. Why is it everytime she is here a guy screws with her heart?

“So Colt, you know where to find me. If you want to make things right, give me a call.” She threw her thick, beach blonde mane behind her shoulder.

“I can’t believe you.” Avery said, ever so lightly, and left, too.

When I was back at my house, Eli wouldn’t even look at me. I’d really screwed up, like really.

I had to fix this crap. Avery was my friend, she wasn’t just some girl I wanted to date and then throw to the curb. I mean I don’t want that with Shay, I just don’t know what I want in life anymore. Things are just way too complicated these days.

I would fix it though.
