I don't know if I can promise you that

The family decided to take a trip together to the beach. Dad, Amy, Cammie, and I all filed out of the house, patiently waiting on the three guys to join us. Soon, Eli was with us, and finally Griffin walked out. He was shirtless, considering we were going to the beach. I smiled wide and went to meet him. I look at Eli and he was glaring at Griffin.

“Dude, go put a freaking shirt on.” Eli spat.

“Eli, be nice.” Amy said.

“Aw, Amy, just tell him we don’t walk around without our shirts on.”As soon as he said this, Colton walked outside with his shirt off.

“Dude, really?” Eli sneered at Colton.

“Huh?” Colton asked confused, shaking his hair out of his face.

“Nothing. Lets go.” My dad said.

When we reached the beach, we broke off from the parents and headed to Far Beach. Colton, Eli, and my place. It is and always has been, no matter how we were all towards each other.

“Man bro, you have a serious problem thinking you can just steal Avery away from us.” Eli said, kicking up a huge pile of sand.

“What are you talking about?” Griffin asked while slipping his arms around me, kissing my neck playfully.

“Don’t play dumb. Avery is in love with me.”  I looked nervously at Griffin and shot Eli a shut up look.

“Eli, I am not in love with you.”

“Avery, don’t lie to spare this shits feelings. Just come out and tell him.”

“I. don’t. love. you. Why do you freaking insist screwing up everything for me?”

As soon as I said those words I regretted them. I did love Eli and I didn’t want him to go away. I’m just so mad at how Eli has been treating Griffin and me. Griffin hasn’t even done anything to Eli. It was Eli’s choice that we broke up. It’s like he doesnonly wants me when I'm not avalible.

Eli was once again gone. Just as I asked, he listened. Colton looked at me strange and ran after his brother. Things were definitely starting to suck. Everytime I come to Baker, something makes the whole trip go downhill.

“Av, come sit with me.” Griffin said walking to the water. I followed behind him. I knew something was wrong. I could just tell that by the way he was walking. You could tell how tense he was by his back.

“Griffin, stop.” I said.

“Huh?” He looked at me.

“I know something is wrong. What is it?”

He came to me and wrapped his arms around me.

“Nothing is wrong. I just wanted you to let off all this bull those guys are giving you. You need to relax, babe.”

With that one word, I melt. His deep Boston accent made it hard not to. I followed him out to the deepest part I could still touch in the water. He held me in his arms and we just floated.

“This place has always made me have terrible relationships. You have to promise me you aren’t going to let anything happen to us.” I said.

“I promise babe. Nothing will ever come between us. I love you way too much to loose you.”

My heart sank. This moment was way too familiar. Something like this had happened this Eli. I couldn’t handle it. I swam out of the water and raced home. I looked behind me, but Griffin was still in the water swimming further out, not even thinking about coming after me.
