×Chapter One×
I’m not going to say I’m excited. Because saying that would be a lie. I’m dreading this, actually: my first day at school. That is, a new school, a boarding school specifically. However, my new place of education is an all boy’s school. The only reason that I, a girl, will be attending Columbia Academy is because my grandfather (who I have never before seen in my life) owns the school and he offered me a free enrollment. But my parents, being money-holics, jumped at the opportunity to send me to this legitimately unheard of school, for free…
Was it just me or did my father have no remorse in his eyes when he and my mother made the decision? I almost had half a mind to flat out ask him what he was thinking. And to ask why I had no say in the matter!
As I’m boarding the plane that will ship me off to my new personal hell, I know I’m being a moronic drama queen. But why shouldn’t I, being in this position?
My only hope is that my grandfather may give me my own suite. I haven’t met him before, but surely there is no way he will allow me to share a room, or a bathroom, with a bunch of perverted guys.
And, being that this school is located practically in the middle of nowhere: Washington state, I am boarding a private airplane for only the students traveling from our state, New York. The one good side of this is that I get to leave my bustling, overcrowded home.
However, my worst fear is proven true as all the boys’ faces light up when they see a girl get on the plane. I imagine three or four of them are actually drooling. I even hear a few guys wolf whistle as I find my seat.
“Dude, she’s fucking hot,” one whispers to his friend. I can feel my eye twitching but try to ignore it. I never knew I can really control myself. Usually, I have a difficult time holding back my reactions.
I silently sit in an empty seat, the whole time boys staring at me. I can’t help but feel so freaking violated; half the guys are undressing me with their eyes. Finally reaching my boiling point, I look up and glare at any guy who even looks me in the eye.
Satisfactorily, they quickly avoid my gaze. Look who’s trying to be smart, now. A few won’t divert their eyes, and they wink, among various other creepy gestures, so I flip them off with my manicured finger. In response, they smirk. Ugh.
“You obviously don’t enjoy the attention boys give you, huh?” a deep, smooth voice says. I jump in surprise and turn to see a guy with chin length black hair and leaf-green eyes, looking to be around my age, sit in the seat beside me.
“I usually don’t mind guy’s attention, except for that type,” I say, pointing with my eyes to the last one that smirked at me.
“I see. My name’s Nate by the way.”
“Felicity,” I reply, as he holds his hand out for me to shake.
“Well, your hands are freezing,” I say, pulling back instantly after I grasp his hand.
“Yeah, that tends to happen when you’re out in the
cold,” he says, laughing.
I laugh as well at my stupidity.
“So, what brings you here?” Nate inquires.
“My grandfather owns the school,” I sigh.
“The headmaster is your grandfather?”
“Yup.”
“Cool.”
“If you say so…”
