×Chapter Six×

I come to, fully clothed again, hearing a light chatter in the room. I have no idea what room I’m in. I recall falling asleep in mine and Aiden’s room after—well I’d prefer not to think about that. But it seriously looks like I’m back in the boarding school suite…because I’m in the living room of our suite! With excitement, I hop up from the sofa, but then lose my balance as I become lightheaded much too fast. Before I can fall to the floor, I feel arms supporting my weight, helping me to stand up straight.

As I get my vision back, I realize that it’s Nate who caught me.

                “Oh my god! Nate!

“Nice to see you, too, Felicity,” he says, with a crooked smile, letting go of me when he’s sure that I am balanced.

Even though I know I just saw him the day before, I feel thrilled.

“I had no idea when I’d get to see you again—and Daemon and Damion!”

They smile at me, striding over.

“How have you been?” Damion asks.

“Well…” I’m not really sure what to say, and I’m not sure how I’ve really been, to tell the truth.

“Wait,” I say. “How did I get here?” I suddenly begin to wildly hope that everything that happened to me in Aiden’s palace was only a dream.

“I teleported you here, while you were still asleep,” Aiden says, walking into the room with Chaise.

“Oh…” I avoid his gaze, blushing as I try not to think about what we did the night before. Of course it hadn’t been a dream.

“Well, we need to be heading off for class in about fifteen minutes,” Nate informs me. “What would you like to do?”

“I don’t really care; I’m just so glad to see you guys again! What’s been going on here since I…left?” I ask, uncertainly.

“Nothing much, as you can probably tell,” Daemon laughs. “Just been going to our classes every day.”

“Wow,” I say. “I almost completely forgot about the school part here. Wait, shouldn’t I be in school?”

“The ‘school part’ is just a cover-up, Felicity,” Nate explains. “This boarding school is mainly just a place for all vampires to grow up together, in the same environment.”

“Hold up,” I intervene. “Then why are there…demons here? And how do vampires grow up? All the adults are young, like, in their twenties!”

Aiden sighs. “Why does it even matter for us to explain these things to you, Felicity?”

“Because I fucking live with you,” I growl. “It is my business, you know… And especially, if you plan on turning me, too!”

“You’re turning her?” Chaise asks Aiden. “When?”

                “It’s a long story, Chaise…”
