Who Would've Thought?

1. Rio

I shifted in my seat so I could sneakily peer over at this girl's test.

But her hair kept blocking my view of her paper.

She had her hair tied up in a high ponytail so it flopped over to left side covering up her test. Unfortunately, I had to be sitting on the left side her and on the other side of me was a wall. 

I reached out with a pen in my hand and tried to gently move the hair over her shoulder hoping she wouldn't notice.

Girls can't really feel if the tips of their hair is being moved, right? 

"Rio Calderon! Stand up now. You are going to the principles office, I will not tolerate cheating in my class." My maths teacher said.

Shit, busted.

Everyone had their attention focused on me now. Including the girl I was trying to cheat off. She looked horrified.

"Oh, and Rio, make sure to hand me your test on the way out." The teacher added.

Well, at least I had almost finished it. Maybe I can still scrape up a pass.

I packed up my things and walked over to the teacher's desk. I handed her my paper.

I watched her take it from me and she ripped it in pieces.

"No! But miss-"

"No, buts. I will not listen to your excuses," She said.

I heard some snickers from the students behind me. They are probably used to my antics and now find it funny.

I turned around and said to them. "Get back to your test. There's nothing to see here."

"And you, Mr Calderon will not be going back to your test. You will not get to redo this. You are getting an automatic fail." She told me.

Bummer.

I sat outside the principal's office, fidgeting with the hem of my shirt.

"Rio Calderon, come inside now please," The principal said when he opened the door.

I was quite happy to make my way into the office. Principal Jones had a really comfortable black chair, way better then the little plastic chairs outside we have to sit on during class.

"What do I have you in for? Usually it's your other half that's here." Principal Jones said.

I smiled at that. Declan has been here too many times to count.

"I got caught," I simply said.

"Doing what?"

"More like doing who." I joked.

Principal Jones furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes.

"I got caught cheating... on my girlfriend." I laughed.

Despite the jokes I was making, I didn't have a girlfriend and I was still a virgin.

"Rio, being sent to the principal's office is not a joking matter. Stop being immature." He stated.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding! I got caught cheating on a test, which to be fair I only cheated on one question." I admitted.

The principal sighed. "I suppose you are already aware that you will not get a chance to retake the test, so you will fail. But on top of that you will also have a Saturday detention."

"What! This is not The Breakfast Club. Who gets Saturday detentions anymore these days?" I scoffed. "I've got shit to do."

Like sleeping.

"Watch your language, Calderon. Rules are rules. They have consequences." He said.

I rolled my eyes. I couldn't count how many times I'd heard that line from an adult.

The school bell rung.

"You are dismissed." Principal Jones gestured to the door.

"But-"

"No our discussion is over."

I made my way out of the room and started my search for Declan in the sea of students blocking my path.

Where the hell was he?

I was about the bump into some kid so I stepped left and he decided to step the same way. I stepped right and he stepped the same way as me again.

"Bloody hell." I shoved past the kid.

I need to tell Declan my news; I got a stupid Saturday detention. I decided that he was going to sit and listened as I complained about it.

I made my way to my locker and tried to open it but the damn thing wouldn't open.

I tugged on my locker harshly like little kid having a tantrum.

By now the halls were empty and everyone was in the cafeteria.

Screw it. I placed stuff above my locker and went to go find Declan and get some food.

I really didn't give a damn if my textbooks and the one chewed on pencil that I owned got stolen in the mean time.
